Approximately 40-60,000 additional people will come to the lake for water sports and recreation. Suddenly there is traffic, shopping is busy, restaurants are packed with a 30 minute wait for a table. A 17 year real estate veteran of selling lake front properties on Cedar Creek Lake, says that in her experience with condo sales and waterfront rental, this property is an ideal candidate for a multi-unit development that would allow owners to then contribute to a rental pool during their vacancy. The agent has about 8 clients who have one or more waterfront weekend rental income property and one client who manages many of those properties. Cedar Creek Lake has over 300 miles of shoreline, the vast majority of which is residential. Most homes are weekend homes from DFW but many are full time residents and of those nearly all are seniors. It was voted "Worth the Commute" in D Magazine's "Best Places to Live" section and was also named "Most Economical Places to Live in Texas for Retirees" by ehow.com. While we are the agents for this property, we are also seniors with a home on the lake. All of our friends are like us in that we love the lake but are beginning to tire of taking care of a full time home. Time will soon come that we will all have to make a decision on our next move and leaving the lake is a very tough choice; but there is no place else on the water we can go. We would love to have the option of a place on the water that caters to those of our age and is able to handle our needs as we grow older.
