The data shown now includes price reductions. Comparisons are between April 26th and May 3 rd, Data for 2006 is believed to be accurate at the time data base is downloaded; data will change as data base is updated by users. There are 119 single family homes that are active on June 3 rd compared to 83 for May 3rd. If we look at past years we find that this is not an unusual amount of inventory for Tahoe Donner. Comparisons of new listings for January 1 st through May 31 st we see: single family homes were listed was clearly a peak time for new listings. See the accompanying Market Snapshot for details of the current single family home market in Tahoe Donner. Now available in Excel by request. 2 ************************************************************************************************* Market Comparisons for Below are some comparison charts for the various second home communities in the North Take Tahoe area. I frequently receive requests for various types of market data such as this and I am very pleased to be able to share it with readers of this newsletter. I will let viewers draw their own conclusions about future market conditions. Readers will note that Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley, Northstar-at-Tahoe and Lahontan had relatively few sales of very expensive homes; this is typical of these areas. The newer areas of Old Greenwood and Gray s Crossing were excluded due to low market volume. This will change in future months. Similar market data is available for any area and any type of real estate within the Tahoe Sierra MLS by request.

4 ************************************************************************************************* Current news about Tahoe Donner & Truckee The course is open at Tahoe Donner! The front 9 opened on May 26 th, closed due to receiving 4-5 inches of snow on May 27 th, and reopened for play on May 28 th. Welcome to our Sierra Spring. I did get a chance to play last week and found the fairways to be in excellent condition. Greens are in good condition in spite of suffering some ice damage caused by an early snow followed by rain. Work is proceeding at a rapid pace on the back 9 with an expected opening in early July. A Toast to the Trails Tahoe Donner Association and The Truckee Donner Land Trust are teaming up to raise money for the Donner Lake Rim Trail, which backs up to Tahoe Donner property. Local artists will be showcasing their work, and there will be wine and spirit tasting with light music. This event will be held at The Lodge on Sunday, June 18 (Father's Day) from 1 5 p.m. Tickets for the event are on sale now for $20. For five years West End Bistro has been the hidden gem tucked below Donner Pass, offering an eclectic and carefully planned menu complimented by intimate patio dining. Celebrating the summer weather that has already settled in the Truckee/Tahoe region, the Bistro is already open for the season. Chef/Owner Mike Alagna is assisted by a tight-knit team of kitchen and service professionals and is ready to launch into another successful summer season. The snow s melting just as California s famous produce is ripening and we are ready to kick off the summer cooking season, Mike said, we are looking forward to once again opening our patio and creating fresh, seasonal dishes. This year s menu includes both Bistro classics as well as inventive new dishes and will change each month as different ingredients come into season. As usual, the Bistro strives to cook with the freshest and most locally-sourced ingredients, finding heirloom tomatoes at Del Rio Farms, visiting local farms and farmer s markets and buying wild and sustainable fish and game. The June menu features dishes such as achiote rubbed Ahi tuna and tamales two ways to macadamia encrusted halibut and Kansas City steak with purple mashed potatoes. To celebrate their 5 th anniversary in style, the Bistro will be offering locals 2-for-1 entrees from Wednesday through Friday for the entire month of June. If you haven t checked out Truckee s premiere outdoor restaurant, now s your chance! Dinner at West End Bistro is served Wednesday thru Sunday from 5:30 p.m., Memorial Day Weekend through September.
