Day Out With Thomas is a family event that offers aspiring engineers and families an up-close opportunity to take a ride with the classic storybook engine, Thomas the Tank Engine at regional heritage railroads across the country. Mt Washington Valley is lucky enough to have Thomas the Tank Engine visit the Conway Scenic Railroad July 12, 13, 14 and July 19, 20, 21. The event comes packed with a schedule of entertainment and of course a ride on the famous train. Tickets are $18 for passengers two years old and up. A ticket for Day Out With Thomas includes the train ride with Thomas the Tank Engine, plus a Bill Willis Photo variety of Thomas & Friends themed entertainment, including Storytelling and Video Viewing, plus live music, unlimited motorcar rides, bouncy houses, mini golf, engine tours, and an awesome Imagination Station that's organized and staffed by themt. Washington Valley Children's Museum. Here you will find Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway play tables, temporary tattoos, face painting, coloring and stamping stations, arts & crafts, and "Frodo, the Walking Tank," a 70-pound tortoise who free-roams the area outside the tent! Guests will also have the opportunity to meet Sir Topham Hatt, the Controller of the Railway on the Island of Sodor, who is visiting North Conway for the event. Due to the popularity of Day Out With Thomas, advance ticket purchase is highly recommended. It is not uncommon for events to sell out. Raven Ranger, a new camp, operating August 12th through August 16th, 2013 for ages 8-11 years old is now accepting applications. With 26 years of experience in nature field activities RAVEN Interpretive Programswill hold this week of nature and science adventure based programs led by Raven founders, Carolyn Myers and Chris Lewey. Campers will get a hands-on introduction into the world of ecology in a small group setting. Fun learning activities will be used to investigate local field, forest, stream and pond communities. The culmination of camp will be a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) day, which will include options such as constructing solar powered cars, performing engineering challenges and boat building. The cost of the program is $395 (healthy snacks, equipment and supplies included). The camp goes from August 12 - August 16 and 9:00-4:00 daily. Cranmore Introduces All New Summer Mountain Adventure Park Season Pass & Family Pricing This summer, Cranmore Mountain Resort launched a new Summer Mountain Adventure Park Season Pass. For one low price of $99 per person, the pass will give holders unlimited access to the Mountain Adventure Park all summer long (the pass does not include access to the Aerial Adventure Park or Segway Tours). The Mountain Adventure Park offers a full day of outdoor activities, including the Mountain Coaster, Soaring Eagle Zipline, Giant Swing, Bouncy Houses, Summer Tubing, Bungy Trampoline, Scenic Chairlift rides and more.

Get Out and Play in Mt Washington Valley Western Maine Aviation Day Don't miss Western Maine Aviation's "Aviation Day"on Saturday, July 13th, at Eastern Slopes Regional Airport in Fryeburg, Maine for some great family summer fun. Throughout the day, planes will be taking off and landing as local FAA approved pilots shuttle people on 15 minute scenic flights for just $15 per person. Buy a raffle ticket for a chance to win a half-hour "Discovery Flight". Maybe becoming a pilot is just the thing for you! There will be many other prizes donated from local businesses and you need not be present to win. All proceeds will go to Maine Aviation Career Education (ACE Camp) programs. 9 Page 9 of 14 Children's Summer Theater Series The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation has launched its fourth season of the Children's Summer Theater Series at the Theater in the Woods in Intervale. Each Friday at 10 AM through August 16 th a 30-minute performance featuring five professional adult actors from the North Country Center for the Arts (NCCA) Children's Theatre Company will appear in original musical adaptations of popular fairy and folk tales. The shows appeal to adults and children ages three and up. After each show, the actors (in costume) meet and greet audience members.
