To date (July 2013) all expected subprojects, 22 in total, have been approved and their contracts awarded covering 100 percent of the loan proceeds under Component 1 (Municipal Infrastructure, accounting for 94 percent of total Project amount). 2 Subproject implementation progress is as follows: Finished contracts (6 subprojects) have benefited directly and indirectly about 245,500 people of which 53,000 are direct beneficiaries. These contracts account for a total of 21 percent of the loan amount. Finished subprojects cover an improvement of a wastewaster treatment plant, construction of sewerage collectors, urban drainage and urban and rural roads in 5 provinces. Ongoing contracts (9 subprojects) account for about 42 percent of the loan amount Four of these contracts have reached more than 50% physical progress and it is estimated that these contracts will benefit directly 141,000 people and about 947,000 indirectly. Ongoing contracts include works in urban and rural roads and improvements in water and sewerage services. There are 7 new subprojects, of which 3 are still pending contract signing which is expected to happen before the end of August These 7 subprojects are expected to benefit an additional 172,000 people directly and about 145,000 indirectly. About 64 percent of the loan resources have been disbursed thus far.
