5 LED Products Overview CHS Controls AB Crouse-Hinds LED Airport produces higher lumens per watt with significantly less wattage consumption. The LED products are 10 to 25 times more efficient than quartz lamps. Energy reductions make Crouse-Hinds LED lighting systems more cost-effective and environmentally friendly. Beyond energy savings, Crouse-Hinds LED lighting delivers reduced maintenance demands. The typical life span of LEDs is greater than 50,000 hours at highest intensity settings, greatly reducing the annual labor you now dedicate to lamp replacement. And, by eliminating the use of filters to achieve color, they provide better efficiency, more precise color patterns, and do not fade or change color when viewed from angles. Features Long life Reduced maintenance cost Fewer replacement components Longer maintenance cycles Lower energy consumption Increased saving in operating cost Replacing LED for incandescent means you can increase the number of lights without increasing the CCR Kilowatt rating on existing circuits Reduces wear on support elements, increasing system life for transformers and CCR s More LED fixtures than incandescent fixtures on existing circuits with the same CCR Better visual acuity Increased pilot visibility and awareness No color shift as with incandescent filters at high angles Lower operating temperatures Well within FAA fixture temperature requirements of 320 F (160 C) Extends life of seals and gaskets Extends lens life Increased longevity of photometric performance Low surface temperature on lens, remains cleaner longer Smart driver technology Provides a constant metered fixture intensity regardless of CCR step to meet FAA specifications PRO APF RCL 8 & 12 Runway Centerline Light - LED Pg 1.2, 1.4 PRO APF TCL 8 & 12 Taxiway Centerline Light - LED Pg 1.26, 1.28 PRO III TOL-LED Omnidirectional Taxiway Edge Light Pg 1.52 RGL4 Runway Guard Light - LED Pg 2.12 TEL Taxiway Edge Light - LED Pg 2.18 AGS-LED Airside Guidance Sign Pg 6.2 PRO III UTILITY LED Omnidirectional Edge Lights-Inset & Elevated Pg 9.2 PRO APF IRGL Inset Runway Guard Light Pg 1.44 PAPI Precision Approach Path Indicator Pg 3.6 REIL Runway End Identifier Light Pg 3.11 Direct replacement of Incandescent Can replace incandescent fixtures during normal maintenance cycles Home Office: United States International Offices: Canada China Dubai Mexico Brazil iii

8 Application Overview CHS Controls AB Originally created to meet the needs of the fledgling Aviation industry Crouse-Hinds Airport lighting has grown into an industry leading global manufacturer of airfield lighting. Our fixtures are operating night and day all over the world. CHALP products are requested by major airports because our fixtures have performed dependably in the most challenging environments for decades. Crouse-Hinds builds quality and performance into every product. We work with both the Federal Aviation Administration and the International Civil Aeronautics Organization providing the best possible product to the aviation community. Airfields present unique environmental, mechanical and photometric needs. How you address those needs depends on what meteorological conditions you will be operating under. Crouse-Hinds Airport produces fixtures to meet the latest FAA & ICAO specifications. No matter what your application we produce a fixture to meet your needs; from approach to taxiways Crouse has the products. We manufacture inset and elevated lighting, power and control systems in addition to obstruction lighting for all airfield operating conditions. Utilizing incandescent, fluorescent and LED light sources, the best possible resource solution is applied to your airfield s needs. Section 1 Runway and Taxiway Inset Lights Runways and taxiways are the operational backbone of the airfield and pose unique environmental, mechanical and photometric needs. How you address those needs depends on what category certification you will be operating under. Location, color and intensity are all important to the pilot when determining his position on the airfield. The Federal Aviation Administration has set forth standards dictating how fixtures must perform determined by fixture location on the field and the present operating conditions. Crouse-Hinds Airport Products has the correct fixture for your airfields operating category certification. 9 CHS Controls AB Section 2 Runway and Taxiway Elevated Lights Runways and taxiways are the operational backbone of the airfield and just like inset fixtures elevated fixtures provide vital movement information to the pilot. Location, color and intensity are all important to the pilot when determining his position on the airfield. The Federal Aviation Administration has set forth standards dictating how elevated fixtures must perform determined by fixture location on the field and the operating conditions. For elevated fixtures Crouse-Hinds Airport Products has the correct fixture for your airfields operating category certification. Runway Light Runway/ Threshold Light Elevated Stop Bar Light Section 3 Approach & Navigational Aids Coordinating movement on the airfield is crucial to the safe and efficient operation of any airfield. Add to that flight operations taking place in unique environmental conditions and the needs for highly visible airfield markers takes on even more importance. How you address those needs depends on what meteorological conditions you will be operating under. Location, color and intensity are all important to the pilot when determining his position and movement options on the airfield. The Federal Aviation Administration has set forth standards dictating how signs must perform and where they must be located. Crouse-Hinds Airport Products has the signs designed to meet those standards for your airfields needs in all certification categories.
