1 DESIGN PARADE TOULON 2 ND INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF INTERIOR DESIGN JUNE 29 JULY 2, 2017 Following the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the International Design Parade festival in Hyères, The villa Noailles has committed itself in 2016 to a new proposition in Toulon devoted to interior design and decoration. DESIGN PARADE TOULON Within the scope of the Hyères festival, Design Parade Toulon unites several exhibitions around a competition designed to reveal and support young interior designers, an unprecedented project of its kind in France. Through this innovative platform, the villa Noailles aims to further its support for young design, whilst at the same time gathering together designers, members of the industry, journalists, and the general public. There are 2 segments to the festival: design in Hyères and interior design in Toulon. DESIGN PARADE WILL TAKE PLACE FROM JUNE 29 TO JULY 2ND The festival presents 10 young international interior designers selected by a prestigious jury, presided, this year, by Vincent Darré. Competitors are asked to create a living room and a display window, that will be produced with the help of the festival and its partners. Several exhibitions are scheduled in Toulon, in addition to the projects of the ten candidates and define a path through the city : Vincent Darré at the Musée des arts de Toulon, Studio Quetzal (The 2016 Grand Prix winners), an heritage exhibition, an exhibition with a renowned House with exceptional savoir-faire, and more to be scheduled. The creations of the finalists are at the heart of the festival, gathered in a remarkable building at the heart of the historical center of the city.

2 COMPETITION RULES The villa Noailles launched an annual contest aimed at young interior designers within the framework of the festival Design Parade Toulon. The competition winner will be awarded the Grand Prix Design Parade Toulon. The competition is open to all interior designers at least 18 years old. The festival will encourage post diploma projects. Collective submissions - made by two or more artists - are accepted. COMPETITION THEME The competition consists of a style exercise: a design for a room in a costal villa by the Mediteranean sea (either a living room, dining room, library, bedroom, or an office). Please note that, this year, the festival asks you to create a 190x150cm window display, in order to exhibit luxury accessories (finest jewellery and luxury leather goods), as a part of the competition. ASSISTANCE AND PARTNERSHIPS The project must be completable with a budget of 2000 euros (including taxes), a budget will be awarded by the festival to the ten selected competitors (on presentation of a provisional budget), and further assistance will be provided by the festival s logistical support and that of its partners. The candidates can use a selection of materials, furnishings and objects placed at their disposal by the festival s partners. The villa Noailles will also make available a selection of objects and works created by former festival winners and friends of its festivals: photographs, furniture, objects (E. & R. Bouroullec, Normal Studio, B. Pot, J.B. Fastrez, C. Guisset, S. Cordoleani...). The festival will cover the costs involved in transporting this furniture and these objects from Paris. The participants are responsible for their own travel costs. The festival can advise and assist in organising this. The festival takes responsibility for the cost of your stay in Toulon and transport by boat (from your accommodation to the exhibition space) and any catering for the selected candidates. Candidates can find additional partners for the creation of their projects and benefit from the assistance of their home countries (embassies, foundations, etc.). APPLICATION COMPLETE YOUR DOSSIER AND SEND IT BY ON MARCH 1 st, 2017 AT THE LATEST competition rules and entry form downloadable from the website: Complete the entry form save it as a.pdf and rename the file in the following manner : surname_first name_1.pdf (eg. : smith_john_1. pdf) Create a PDF file consisting of : - a maximum of 3 pages per project, illustrating examples of your previous work (not being entered for the competition), mention PORTFOLIO on these 3 pages. - a maximum of 10 pages illustrating the project competing for the Grand Prix, including a statement of intent, mood board, sketches, 3D views, plans, technical specifications, colour and materials board, list of furniture and objects, photos of a model. Label these items with DESIGN PARADE TOULON The file must be named in the following manner: surname_first name_2.pdf (ex: smith_ john_2.pdf) Your file must adhere to the following conditions: digital.pdf file, 8 Mo maximum. 4 RETURN OF DOSSIERS For the return of your portfolio provide within the envelope a self-addressed envelope with the correct postage if you live in France OR a self-addressed envelope along with the sum of 20 euros cash or cheque in euros made out to Association villa Noailles OR a self-addressed envelope and bank transfer to the account of Association villa Noailles International Bank Account Number (IBAN) FR Bank Identification Code (BIC) CCOPFRPPXXX using the reference DP TOULON 2017 OR slip for a courier * (UPS/DHL/FEDEX or any other courier capable of returning your portfolio to the country of origin) along with any relevant account details. If you would prefer your portfolio not to be returned, please attach a note specifying this. The portfolio will be destroyed if it is not one of the 10 selected for the competition. * The sender must accept the responsibility for any eventual taxes and customs charges. The villa Noailles will not take responsibility for any fees incurred and reserves the right to refuse any dossier where this may occur. The festival will not be held responsible for any damage or loss which may occur during either delivery or return. The 10 selected portfolios belong to the villa Noailles. SELECTION After India Mahdavi for the first edition, the 2017 jury is headed by the architect and designer Vincent Darré, and consists of wellknown individuals from the fields of interior design, editors and journalists. The jury will sit during mid-march 2017 to select the 10 interior designers who will exhibit their work in Toulon during this 2nd festival. Entrants whose dossier has been selected by this final jury will be personally informed by phone by the organisers. If you have been selected, you will then be contacted by the organisers in order to discuss the presentation of your work. You will have to provide the festival with texts and photographs of your selected project. You agree to be present in Toulon from Monday June 19 to Sunday July 2, 2017 inclusive (the festival will cover expenses for accommodations). PLEASE NOTE No response will be provided by means of telephone, those candidates not selected will be contacted via . All selected participants must commit themselves to adhere to and respect the festival programming (which may be altered at the organisers discretion). The jury s decisions for the selection of participants and during the festival are final and without appeal.

5 GRAND PRIX DESIGN PARADE TOULON The competition judges will award the Grand Prix Design Parade Toulon which consists of: - a personal exhibition in Toulon in July, 2018, - a personal exhibition in the windows of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, - the design and creation of a fabric or wallpaper by a festival partner - publication in a magazine partnering with the festival (Other collaborations with the Festival s partners are submitted to further changes.) PUBLIC AND CITY OF TOULON AWARD The audience present during the festival is also asked to vote for the Public and City of Toulon award. OTHER AWARDS Other awards may be given by the judges (special prizes, or prizes awarded by the festival s sponsors).
