They are intimate and friendly, nestling in the heart of the historic squares of old, and showcase local products and crafts. The walk is led by an experienced guide and will be accompanied by a competition requiring observation or based on general culture. They may be in Renaissance or traditional style, made of painted wooden panels or unusual materials and are dotted along the route that leads to the unmissable exhibition of twenty or so nativity scenes at the St Léger Church in Munster. A story linked to the Saint of the day or the calendar image is told by a mysterious voice. In this way, each window will help you find out about the rites and customs of es in Alsace... Depending on the day, this ceremony is accompanied by carols, handing out Wienachts-Bredele ( biscuits), gingerbread, toys and other small gifts to delight both young and old. From 01 to 23/12 at 9 pm and 31/12 at midnight Corps de Garde Free Torchlight procession through the vineyards and climb up to the Schauenberg Chapel on the Pfaffenheim Hills, by torchlight. Holy Innocents service. Going back to a 17th century custom: expression of gratitude by the people of Pfaffenheim to the Virgin Mary following the Thirty Years War and the epidemic of the plague that followed. At the end of the service, the Community of Sisters and the Schauenberg association will provide a hot drink. 8 The Caves de Noël Label ( Wineries) This label is awarded to wineries decorated in colours which organise numerous events during the Advent period and right through to Twelfth Night: story-telling, concerts, exhibitions, skills demonstrations, festive meals, etc. based on themes such as: in Alsace, wine of Alsace, gastronomy, locally or regionally produced arts and crafts.
