15 Veysonnaz: Veysonnaz is a small, traditional village perched on the mountainside at 1400m above the city of Sion in the Canton Valais. One of the key characteristics of the village are the unobstructed views across the Rhône Valley, which can be enjoyed all across the village. Getting to the resort is very easy, as you can stick to motorways and main roads from Geneva to Sion and then it is just a 20 minute drive up the mountain. There is a good mix of bars and restaurants here (and in Sion below) and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Evenings in Veysonnaz are beautiful as the sun swings round the mountain to dapple the village before the lights of the towns and villages in the valley light up beneath you.

16 The Skiing: This resort links directly into the 4 Vallées ski area (with Verbier) giving access to over 412km of worldclass skiing. If you felt inclined, you could ski to Verbier for lunch! The local slopes in this sector (Printze) are varied and very scenic though so you may not feel the need. The slopes between Veysonnaz and nearby Les Collons are very good with plenty of sun. For on-the-slopes-cuisine you won t find many better equipped sectors in the Alps as the Magrappé & Caboulis of Veysonnaz both offer fantastic food and service, and in our opinion Le Bois Sauvage and La Cambuse over in Les Collons are some of the best mountain restaurants in the Valais.
