9 5 AIR AND SEA CONNECTIONS The Canary Islands have 8 airports, at least one on each island, receiving scheduled flights from over 170 cities, mainly European but African and American too. Cargo and passenger ships arrive frequently at the different ports. The islands are connected via frequent domestic flights every day, which do not take longer than 45 minutes.
