1 Proposed Changes for the August, 2018 Service Change Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) Public Hearing to be conducted on Wednesday, May 30, noon 1900 Main Street, 2 nd Floor Board Room
2 PROPOSED METRO SERVICE ADJUSTMENTS August 2018 Service Changes Please read the information below detailing the planned route and schedule changes under consideration to the various METRO routes. New Service Implement the new Missouri City Community Connector Service. This on demand service will operate inside Missouri City, and connect to the Missouri City Park & Ride Lot located on Fondren Rd. Route Re-Alignments (Please see pages 4-9 for proposed maps - schedules are under review) 29 Cullen/Hirsch 7 days/week Change the northern end of the route to start/end at Kashmere Transit Center. The route between Kashmere and Northline Transit Centers will be taken over by the 36 Kempwood. Extend the southern end of the route via Cullen Almeda Genoa MLK Orem. Adjust the schedule to match the new routing. 36 Kempwood 7 days/week Change the eastern end of the route to operate via Fulton Crosstimbers Eastex Service Road Kelley to the Kashmere Transit Center, and adjust the schedule to match the new routing. There will be no change to the route west of Northline Transit Center. 80 MLK/Lockwood 7 days/week Extend the southern end of the route via M.L.K. Orem Cullen Almeda Genoa, and adjust the schedule to match the new routing. 248 El Dorado Park & Ride Weekdays To simplify the route, change the route to operate directly between El Dorado Park & Ride and Downtown, bypassing the Eastwood Transit Center. Additional peak direction trips on the 246 Bay Area Park & Ride would stop at the Eastwood Transit Center to replace these trips. Schedule Adjustments (Proposed schedules are under review) 8 West Bellfort Weekdays Add trips to relieve overcrowding. 11 Almeda/Lyons 7 days/week - Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable. 40 Telephone/Heights 7 days/week Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable. 48 Market 7 days/week Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable. 54 Scott 7 days/week Extend evening trips from Scott/South Acres to the Hiram Clarke Transit Center to match service with ridership demand. 3 65 Bissonnet 7 days/week Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable. 85 Antoine/Washington 7 days/week Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable. 99 Ella-FM 1960 Weekdays Add trips to provide 30 minute all day frequency. 161 Wilcrest Express 7 days/week Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable. 209 Kuykendahl/Spring Park & Ride Weekdays Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable. 219 West Little York/Northwest Station/Cypress Park & Ride Weekdays - Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable. 222 Grand Parkway Park & Ride Weekdays Add trips to relieve overcrowding. 229 Addicks/Kingsland/Grand Parkway Park & Ride Weekdays Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable. Add trips to relieve overcrowding. 246 Bay Area Park & Ride Weekdays Increase the number of trips that stop at the Eastwood Transit Center, and adjust running times. 249 Monroe/Fuqua/El Dorado/Bay Area Park & Ride Weekdays - Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable. 259 Eastex/Townsen/Kingwood Park & Ride Weekdays - Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable. 269 Westwood/West Bellfort Park & Ride Weekdays - Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable. Route Elimination 417 Harris County Courthouse Shuttle Weekdays - Due to duplication of service, this temporary service is under review for discontinuation (effective June 1, 2018). Service is available via the 11 Almeda/Lyons, 51 Hardy-Kelley & 52 Hardy-Ley routes.
