By giving your child the opportunity to go to camp, you re providing memories that last a lifetime. BELONGING We re here to make kids feel welcome. 3 CAMP INFORMATION Safety, Standards and Staff We re committed to providing the safest, most positive summer experience for our campers. As active members of the American Camp Association (ACA) and the NJ YMCA Day Camp Network, we re involved in camping throughout the year to ensure that each of our unique camps is at its best. American Camp Association Accreditation (ACA) The American Camp Association is a leading authority in youth development and works to preserve, promote, and improve the quality of camp programs. In partnership with ACA, we re dedicated to providing: Caring, competent adult role models Safe, nurturing environments Healthy, developmentally appropriate experiences Opportunities for leadership and personal growth Excellence and continuous self-improvement Our camps are licensed by the NJ State Department of Health and Safety. Facilities, program equipment, staff credentials and training meet the highest standards. Fulltime professional staff and experienced program directors make up our team. Our directors have over 100 years of combined camp experience! Summer staff are carefully screened and selected for their love of children and the enthusiasm they bring to our community. An extensive interview is followed by a background check and 30 hours of pre-camp intensive staff training. Trainings focus on safety, counseling techniques, conflict resolution and values along with camp policies and procedures. Financial Assistance Every child deserves a camp experience. Through our ANNUAL CAMPAIGN, we raise money for camp scholarships. Each summer, over 100 children experience camp because of your generosity. Space is limited! Before Care starts at 7:00am and After Care ends at 7:00pm. This optional program is at your child s campsite unless noted. Healthy snacks, organized games, enrichment activities and more are part of After Care. A $10 fee is charged for all am and pm camp care changes. HOW TO REGISTER Complete and return the registration form on pg. 12. A valid branch membership from the Metro YMCA of the Oranges and a $50 deposit per week are required for all campers. The balance is due May 18, Payment plans are available. This indoor camp sparkles with cultural dances and games that children from other countries enjoy. Campers recognize their own uniqueness and gain perspective on other cultures. We link reading, gaming and math skills by creating beautiful, high quality artwork. Each session culminates with a vibrant art show highlighting the country we explore. AM Bus stop location: # PM Bus stop location: # PARENT/GUARDIAN AND YMCA AGREEMENT 5 Rules for Acceptance and Participation in Camp are the same for everyone without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. All campers will be treated as individuals and respect will be shown for differences in tastes, preferences, abilities and range of behavior patterns. The Y reserves the right to dismiss a child from camp whose special needs we are not able to meet or whose conduct is not in the best interest of the total camp without refund. Current Membership and a $50 Deposit per week are required upon registration deposit fee is applied to the total camp bill. Refund Policy: deposit fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. In the case of dismissal or voluntary withdrawal, there are no refunds of camp fees after May 15, If it is deemed advisable to dismiss a camper for medical reason, one-half of the unused portions of the session(s) will be refunded. Discipline Policy I will review and reinforce the camper conduct and other camp policies with my child prior to the start of camp. Discipline at the Y is handled with much care and thought. Redirection and positive reinforcement are used to help children understand proper behavior. Campers not following the conduct policy may be suspended or expelled with no refund. Other Fees Include $35 for changes in registration after March 31, 2018; $50 surcharge for late payments after May 15; late pick up fee of $15 per 15 minute interval starting from scheduled pick up time; $35 for returned checks. All requested changes must be submitted in writing. Photography Policy: The Y has my permission to use any and all photographs taken of my child in camp activities in Y publicity. The YMCA values the privacy of its members. I do not want my child s photo to be used in external YMCA marketing. I have read all of the above information and I am fully aware of all of the terms and principles contained herein. All questions have been answered to my satisfaction. I agree that certain activities at the Y have risks which are inherent to the activity. No insurance has been included in membership or program fees. 18 SPORTS CAMPS SPORTS GALORE JOIN THE TEAM. US Sports Institute partners with the Y to bring over 15 different sports from around the world to the field. Self-confidence, teamwork, good sportsmanship and discipline flourish in our fun, relaxed atmosphere. Mornings start with hands on technical instruction and realistic game play. Afternoons are bursting with excitement playing the USSI Olympic Games and World Cup. GOLF CAMP SWING INTO ACTION. TGA of Union County coach all ages and skill levels. Certified TGA instructors focus on swing fundamentals: chipping, putting, driving, club choices, rules and etiquette. We re on the course daily and zero in on individual attention. Hat, hat clip with ball marker, golf guide and prizes included. ADVANCED GOLF CAMP for repeat campers and those who have experience on the course. We focus on master artists from different eras. Campers will imagine, design and create self-portraits, collages and other graphic designs. We plan weekly trips and have a fantastic art show on the last day. We believe in building leaders and responsible counselors. Our progressive program provides leadership training, team building and skill development. Shadow a senior counselor in YKNOTS (pre-school aged), SOMAPY (school-aged) or CREATIVE THEATER (school-aged). CIT s prepare, organize and assist with camp activities. Grow and develop a shared passion for camp and kids. Hours Cost 9:00am-4:00pm $600 for each 3-week session. Individual weeks are not available.
