Chapter 1- Sameer s story Waiting for a plane is such a boring it tedious task. I had gotten pins and needles from sitting in my seat for so long and I was afraid to get out of my seat to let my blood circulate because somebody might take my seat. Just when I was about to go mad from the numbness of my legs a message was aired over the P.A telling all of the passengers of flight A-2 Singapore Airlines to check. I watched as everyone gracefully ambled to the checkout station while was still struggling to get out of my chair and walk there. When I got out of the chair realized I couldn t walk as the numbness of my legs made it impossible to coordinate myself. So I had to stand in place and wait for my legs to recuperate for the numbness. When I was ready to walk to the station there was only ten minutes till my flight to Russia left at 8am. I ran to the checkout station and when I got there the lad at the counter asked for my name, passport and age. I told her my name, showed her my passport and told her my age not wasting one second of the precious time I had left. After that I raced to the plane and got there just in time. I took the front seat and was surprised that no one had taken it already. The man next to me looked like he was in his 20 s. He had brown hair and was of average height. Soon the pane began to prepare its self for the journey ahead and a safety check was made by the flight attendants. I noticed there two people behind me one was a female and one was male. I didn t get to see any special features of them in particular but I saw that they both had black hair. As soon the plane took off to the skies I let my body shut down and go into a slumber. I was suddenly awakened from my sleep by an announcement that said the plane was making an emergency landing in Nepal because one of the plane s wings had a defect in them and we would have to make group of four for safety. I was slow to react to this message but the person next to me and the two people behind were in a group with me in a flash. Empetuassly the plane plummeted to the ground I thought we were going to crash and die but I was just being paranoid and the plane landed safely in a hanger. Page 1

We all got off the plane in our groups. The pilot told us to go inside the airport and wait for further information on our situation. Everybody went inside the airport and waited. Soon one of the members of our group got restless and went to the engineer to see where we would be staying and how long we would be here. He came back very quickly and told us that the engineer said that it is unknown at the moment how much damage has been caused to the wing but in the meantime we will be staying in Yak and Yeti. After the information was relayed back to us we got into a taxi and we headed for Yak and Yeti. Soon we arrived at Yak and yeti. It was surrounded by miles and miles of beautiful building, flowers and everything nice Nepal had to offer. We went into the hotel and went to our rooms. We unpacked our bags and began to explore the hotel room. Nishad looked through all the cupboards and found mountains of fashionable clothes in each. I tested the beds to see how fluffy they were and they were perfect. Next Harish and Nishad admired the view from our room. After our exploration of the hotel it became lunch time and we were all gluttonous. So we decided to go to an Indian restraint that we saw on our way to Yak and Yeti. I had my mind dead set on having some steak for lunch. When we got there we sat at a table then I looked through the menu for steak but I couldn t find steak or any beef related dish. So instead I ordered butter chicken and coke Harish ordered rice and coke, Nishad ordered rice, dal and coke and Harine ordered rice with beef. I assume she didn t read the menu but soon she change it to butter chicken. When the waiter served us our food I asked him why there was no beef dish on the menu. He replied with that it was a religious rule in Nepal to not eat beef. Page 3

After we finished eating we started walking home but we stopped at a colossal temple called Shri Pitinath. There were patterns of stained glass on the roof which glittered in the sunlight. There were statues of deities and gods littered all around the temple. The sight of the statues lighted an idea in Nishad s brain as when he saw the statues he immediately went to one of the statues and took a picture with one. I and Harish were intrigued by a cave which looked like it had sparkling gems in it. We ran there and we saw rubies, emerald, sapphire and many more gems. After we finished discovering all we could about the cave we saw Harine and Nishad dancing with a group of people who were wearing vividly coloured clothes. We decided to join in the dance too. The dance was called Salaje Jhaune. It was a very complex and traditional dance. After the dance we were all exhausted so when we went back home I instantly jumped into my bed and went to sleep. The next day while we were eating breakfast a phone call came and Nishad picked it up. After the call ended he told us that we would be leaving Nepal today at 11am. We all instantaneously stopped eating breakfast simultaneously and started packing our bags. When we got everything ready we went to the airport and checked ourselves checked ourselves in. We got on the plane at 11am on the dot and we were off to Russia. page 5
Chapter 2- Nishad s story Beep Beep Beep!!!! Ahh it s 5 o clock I m going to be late for the flight. I better get dressed as fast as I can. My tummy is rumbling that s my body alarm to tell me I have to eat something. I munch and chew cereal. After I chew my cereal I wash my bowl and off I went to the airport. OH No! Where s the taxi? there is only 50 minutes left. After 5 minutes a taxi comes. Where do you want do go? asked the taxi driver. I want to go to the Airport I say. When arrived at the Airport there was only 20 minutes until the flight leaves. I quickly run towards the lady at the counter. She exclaimed what s your name, age and may I have your passport. Sure, my name is Nishad my age is 21 and here s my passport thank you states the lady at the counter. As I run towards the plane I sob. As I excitedly sit on my seat, the plane was ready to leave. There was a man next to me who was sleeping. The plane swiftly takes off and I was really excited that I was finally going to Russia. After 1 hour and 30 minutes we were trying to land. But how can we be in Russia already? Suddenly there was an announcement saying we are landing in Nepal due to a defection to the wing he also said to get into a group of 4. While we were in the taxi I started talking to the people who I made a group of 4 with. They said their names were Sameer, Harish and Harine. Hi my name is Nishad and my age is 21 years old as I state. Suddenly Harish says it will take approximately 2 days. Oh so that s why the people at the airport phoned. After a few minutes we had finally arrived. We found our rooms I opened the cupboard and I saw very fashionable clothes. I looked around and saw that this room was luxurious. Harish and I peered through the window and we saw luscious fields and vivid flowers. I was famished after that long journey so we all decided to go to an Indian restaurant. There was many varieties of food but I only bought rice, dal [lentil] and coke. After we ate our lunch, we came across a temple. Page 6

The Temple was called Shree Pashupatinath temple. The roof had glamorous pieces of crystals. The statues were made out of fragment of different hues. I had a great Idea I could take a selfie so I ran in front of one statue and I took a selfie of me and the statue. Suddenly, Sameer and Harish ran towards a strange looking cave. Harine looked sad and lonely so she followed Sameer and Harish so I followed as well. In the cave we saw people dancing and Harine asked the people who were dancing may I join in yeah sure they replied. So we all decided to join in. When we finished dancing it was very late and we were exhausted, we forgot to have dinner and we straightaway went to sleep. Beep Beep Beep!!! Wow it s 5 o clock time to wake up. Everyone was fast asleep so I decide to wake them up. Everyone woke up and I decided to make breakfast. As we were munching on cereal a phone call came and I picked the phone up. It was the Airport people they said the plane was fixed and the flight was at 11:00am. We were all very happy and gobbled our food very quickly and we all packed or clothes and off we went to the Airport. Finally there was an announcement all people going to Russia board the plane now. We sat in our seats and off we flew to Russia. Page 8

Chapter 3- Harine s story It was 6am and I ve been at the airport for nearly two hours. I am going to Russia for a month for a holiday. I am going on the Singapore airlines. An announcement was made saying all people going on the Singapore airlines, start checking in. At the counter they asked for my name, age and passport. I said My name is Harine and I m 20 years old and here is my passport. The lady then handed me my passport back. I said Thank you and I went to board the plane. After I found my seat, I found that I was sitting next to a gentleman and two men in front. I then started watching a safety video on the screen. Oops I just remembered that I didn t put on my seatbelt. So I put it on. Then an announcement was made that the plane was going to take off. I then started to watch movies. About an hour and a 30 minutes through travelling to Russia, near Nepal, there was an announcement made. It was from the pilot saying that one of the plane s wing was defected and there was going to be a emergency landing. The pilot also mentioned that we had to make a group of four. I made the group of four with the man next to me and the two men in front. I thought that the plane was going to crash but it landed safely in less than 5 minutes at Nepal airport. When the plane s engineer had a look at the plane s wing he told the airport that it would take approximately 2 days to fix the wing. Then the airport informed us. The airport gave us free accommodation at hotel Yack and Yeti. So I caught a taxi with 3 gentlemen who I have to share a room with. Finally they introduced themselves. One was Harish who is 19 and another was Sameer and he is 22 and Nishad who is 21. I said I m Harine and I m 20 years old. When we arrived at our room we were sharing, we put our things down. Page 10
We were so hungry that we decided to go to an Indian shop for lunch. I couldn t wait to have beef with rice. We went to the closest Indian shop. At the shop I was looking through the menu for beef and rice. But I couldn t find it. When the waiter came around to take the order, I questioned the waiter to see if they sell beef. The waiter was surprised and he exclaimed that Hindus in Nepal don t eat beef. I was astounded to hear Hindus in Nepal don t eat beef. So I just ordered chicken and rice. After lunch, as we walked back to the hotel, we saw a temple. Harish instantly recognised that this was the temple Shree Pushupantinath temple. He ran in pulling us by his hand. In the temple there were many crystal statues of god and priests as well. On one of the statues there was a fact. It was that Lord Ganesha has an elephant head. There was a priest that explained that the main religion in Nepal is Hinduism. As we wondered around the temple amazed by what we see, we find a group of people dancing. I asked if I could join in. They said yes. I asked them what type of dance it was. They explained this was a traditional dance and is called Salaijo Jhaure. After looking at the temple, we went back to the hotel. The next day we got a phone call half way through breakfast. Nishad answered the phone. It was from the airport, the plane was fixed and there was a 11o clock flight to Russia. We were all happy, not because we were able to leave the hotel, it was because we could go on our holiday. We gulped down our breakfast, quickly packed and caught a taxi to the airport. We caught the 11o clock flight and we were off to Russia. Page 11

Chapter 4-Harish s story It was November 5th I had arrived at the airport at 7:50 am. There was only 10 minutes till I had to catch my flight to Russia. I gracefully thanked my taxi driver, pulled my luggage out from the boot and ambled into the airport. The floor tiles in the airport were gleaming because of the vibrant lights. I felt as though I was going to explode because I was so overjoyed. Soon, after a few minutes, l had to go to the check in. " What is your name and age?" bellowed the lady at the desk, " may I also see your passport?" " My name is Harish and I am 19!" I exclaimed while giving my passport to her. She held a big grin and told me that I had to catch my flight at A2, Singapore Airlines. While I was walking my destination, I smelt something aromatic. It was a staff member who wanted me to follow her to my plane. I could not say no so I did as said. I walked through a tunnel behind her and arrived at my plane. I was relieved. I slowly entered my plane and got to my seat. It was a luxurious seat, plush pillows, documentaries and many more. The plane took off tilting through the skies. Inside the plane it felt like years. The woman sitting beside me was trying to take a few views through the window. Page 13

Spontaneously, the plane seemed to plummet to the ground but... but it... it wasn t! Sweat was drizzling down my forehead. The pilot told us to get into groups of 4. While standing up, I looked through the window. One of the plane s wings got defected! The pilot was trying to land the plane in Nepal. I hoped that he knew what he was doing. The plane swiftly landed in the plane hangar. I was gravely relieved. I cautiously ambled out of the plane because I didn t want any more trouble. I started talking to the people I made a group of four with. We decided to stay together as friends. We got on a taxi and went to the hotel, Yak and Yeti because the airport gave us free accommodation there. I saw many trees. Soon, I turned around to my new friends and asked what their names were. Nishad, Harine and Sameer, they exclaimed. My name is Harish, I remarked. Instantaneously, my phone started to ring. The airport was calling; they said that it would take approximately 2 days. I quickly told this to everyone. We had soon arrived at our hotel. We entered our room and inside we saw a luxurious apartment. Nishad opened a cupboard and out came ostentatious clothes. It was a wonderful room. Nishad and I peered out the window and saw luscious fields. We were famished from the journey so, we went to an Indian restaurant. There were many varieties of food. I only bought plain rice and coke. Page 15
While we walked back, we came across a Hindu temple. It was called Shree Pashupatinath temple. It is a golden beacon to the people of Nepal. We entered and were bounded by a serene place. The statues made of garments crystal hanging from the roof. Instantly, Nishad ran forward to take a photo with a god. Sameer and I went to look at a strange looking cave. Harine felt alone so, she followed. We saw many gods. Fun Fact: Nepal is known as the kingdom of Hinduism. Can we join in? Harine asked the people who were dancing. Yes! they exclaimed. All of us ran into the dance to take part. People were wearing many vivid clothes. The dance s name is called Salaijo Jhaure. Salaijo Jhaure is a traditional dance. In the dance, people wear bright clothes. It is a complex dance which Hindus do. We went back to the hotel while sweat drizzled down our foreheads. When we were home, we started to sleep. It was very late at night. The next day we received a phone call. It was from the airport. They told us that we would have our flight to Russia at 11:00 am. Everyone jumped up and down in contentment. I realised that there are always miracles. Are you coming? asked Sameer, Harine and Nishad. Yes! I exclaimed. With that, I went with the others to get ready.
