1 WingWords M A R C H 2018 Gold Wing Road Riders Association The theme for Wingless Weekend 2018 was Mardi Gras. The decorative touches such as the stunning archway and the inspiring backdrop were a testament to the creativity of the GWRRA Chapter NL - A members. Canadian Atlantic District It is said that Laughter is the best medicine. If this is true, our members should never be sick for very long. On talent night, there were comedy skits from the Moviegoers, Uncle Bill, Da Boys, and Ron and Bev Clark. Rick and Anita Feltham, Tony and Carol Masters, Gerry Russell, Doug Tricco and Charles Cook, in true Newfoundland style, provided the musical talent for the evening. A great time was had by all! The movie Wild Hogs was quite entertaining and nostalgia was evident during the slide show of earlier GWRRA times! The Iceberg Alley Riders Olympics brought out our competitive spirit. The games were quite fun and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners with the best course times were Zane Saunders, Mark Williams and Brian Parsons. The Dinner and Dance brought out the costumes. What a wonderful display of ingenuity and colour! The winners of the best male and female costumes were Mark and Dale Williams dressed as the Jester and the Playing Card Queen. Chapter NL-A Friends for Fun, Safety & Knowledge Congratulations to Charles and Andrea Cook and Donna Evans for receiving their next level in the Rider Education Program. Thanks to the 2018 committee for making this such a memorable event. See pages 3-5 for some photos.

12 PAGE 12 Mr. and Mrs. Brown had two sons. One was named Mind Your Own Business & the other was named Trouble. One day the two boys decided to play hide and seek. Trouble hid while Mind Your Own Business counted to one hundred. Mind Your Own Business began looking for his brother behind garbage cans and bushes. Then he started looking in and under cars until a police man approached him and asked, "What are you doing?" "Playing a game," the boy replied. "What is your name?" the officer questioned. "Mind Your Own Business." Furious the policeman inquired, "Are you looking for trouble?!" The boy replied, "Why, yes." A teacher asked her students to use the word "beans" in a sentence. "My father grows beans," said one girl. "My mother cooks beans," said a boy. A third student spoke up, "We are all human beans." Q: Why can't a motorcycle stand up on its own? A: Because it's two tired. Q: A cowboy left Montana to go to Texas on Friday and came back on Friday. How did he do it? A: He named his horse Friday. Two travellers sitting in a kayak were chilly, so they lit a fire in the craft. Unsurprisingly it sank, proving once again that you can't have your kayak and heat it too.
