Ladies Club We had a really nice Bring N Share for the month of April featuring ham. Thanks to all the ladies who made it possible. Most snowbirds have gone back up North by now. We will miss you. Hope you have a safe trip home and a wonderful summer. The month of May brings more flowers and a greener look for our pretty park. We want to thank everyone for all of your hard work to make our park nicer and nicer. Your efforts are appreciated. When we work together like we do on the rummage sale it makes money for us to be able to help ourselves as well as be able to give to others! Speaking of the rummage sale, it is scheduled for July th. Currently we do not have enough donations to warrant having one this summer. While you are doing your Spring Cleaning, please remember the upcoming rummage sale and set things aside to donate. What you consider to be trash could be someone s treasure. However, we only take items that are in working condition and clean. If you need something picked up, please call me Editor Harriet Pirino
2 The Ladies Club gave $ to each of these six different organizations: 1.) New Beginnings 2.) Run For Freedom (Human Trafficking) 3.) FUMC Backpack Program 4.) Haven of The Lake (Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault) 5.) South Lake Pregnancy and Family Care 6.) Building Blocks (Handicap Adult Education) If you know of anyone who needs a card, contact Barb McGinnis. 4 NOTES FROM THE BOARD PET REGISTRATION FORM: - A pet registration form is attached to this newsletter. If you have any pets, please take the time to complete a form and return it to the office. You can list all of your pets on the form. There is no need to have a form for each pet. (If possible, please also include a picture of each pet.) This form will be kept in your files in the office. PARKING IN THE STREET - The Rules and Regulations state that parking in the streets or on the lawns of homes is not permitted. The streets are too narrow to allow parking, and this becomes a safety hazard, if emergency vehicles need to come into the park. Also, it makes it very difficult for residents to pull in and out of the driveways, and puts the car that is in the street at risk of getting hit. Please do everything in your power to adhere to this rule. If extra parking is needed, residents and their guests can park their vehicles in the designated parking spots around the clubhouse or maintenance shed. For the residents living on the island, they can use the grassy area near the entrance for additional parking. Emerald Lakes has recently reinstituted their towing policy. If residents or guests park in areas where parking is not allowed they are taking the risk of being towed. Your understanding and cooperation with this is most appreciated. GOLF CARTS Minor children without a driver s license are not permitted to drive golf carts in the community, unless a licensed adult is present in the cart. SPEED LIMITS IN THE PARK: The posted speed limits in the community must be adhered to at all times. These speed limits are for all vehicles (cars, motorcycles, and golf carts). COMMITTEES CHARGED There was a change in the Fining Committee members. Barbara Girdley was replaced by Larry Lubick, as no member of a committee may have a spouse on the Board of Directors. NEW RESIDENTS We have had many homes purchased in the last few months and will be seeing many new faces in the park. Below is a list of new owners; I know we will all do our best to make them feel welcome in Emerald Lakes, when they move in. Lot 18 Ronald and Bonita Marcusen Lot 38 Arthur Robert Hill Lot 41 Jeanette McCarthy and Anna Kimura. Their mother, Ruby Johnson, will be residing there. Lot 49 Marc Adduci and Paula Paschke Lot 64 Charles and Jeanne Houchens Lot 98 Virginia Traylor Lot 100 James Purvis. James cousin, Gloria Swank, will be residing there.
