7 30 Was unaware of its existence 5/29/2018 3:36 AM 31 I grew up here, I'm an old lady, though I don't visit the parks frequently, I see them and enjoy them and appreciate that kind of space. They are important...create more parks than parking lots. 32 When I first moved here I would explore all the time. However, now any events are over publicized. This creates awful traffic and the lack of parking doesn t help either. There seems to be a lack of parking daily anyway. 33 I have stopped swimming in the pool because it is not clean. I reported it and was basically accused of lying by the city. The women who do aerobics think it is clean because they do not put their heads under water. The bottom of the pool is NOT vacuumed contrary to what you may think or be told. Maybe they have started cleaning it in the past year. I haven't gone back to find out. I got tired so hair wads floating in the pool and seeing the same dirt and debris on the bottom of the pool. This pool is an outdoor pool. Growing up in S. Florida and having owned my own outdoor swimming pool in the past, I know it is exposed to debris that floats in. This pool is not surrounded by a bunch of trees dropping debris. It is just not cared for properly because the equipment to do it is not there. When I see the same bandaids or hair bands on the bottom of the pool, week after week, it's obvious the pool isn't being vacuumed. The water is clear, yes. There is a boy who swims with a net trying to scoop up debris. This is not the way to keep a pool clean no matter how you try to justify it. Anyone who looks at the pool from above thinks it's clean. Anyone who swims laps at the end away from the steps knows it's not clean. If the problem has finally been rectified, then great. Maybe I'll give it a try again this summer and see if there have been any changes. 34 My family is living in Mt Dora and I will be moving there shortly. I would love to see an indoor recreation center like the ones I have enjoyed while living in Orange County. 35 We're starting to avoid Mt. Dora because there's NO PARKING. Having said that, most of these parks listed here I have no idea where they are. It would've been helpful if you put a google link on them. I've probably been to them but didn't realize their name. Signage is not Mount Dora's forte unfortunately. In fact, our family calls Elizabeth Evans Park "Misspelling Park" because her name is misspelled on the plaque. In addition, Donnelly Park is really supposed to be called ANNIE Donnelly Park. I go to sanlando if I want to play at night. They actually have lights that illuminate all of the court. This is an age old issue and I don t understand why. 116 We tend to go to the ones we already are familiar with and that are well-maintained. The exception: Cauley Lott Park, which we attend for the art center's Art in the Park program.
