2 Dear Westshore Alliance Members and Friends: Thank you for your support in 2017 it was another successful year for the Westshore Alliance. We initiated and implemented a number of projects and programs to advance our mission of promoting, shaping future growth and fostering economic prosperity of the Westshore District. The 2017 Year in Review report highlights these activities, which focus on member engagement, public safety, District marketing, transportation, and planning for Westshore s continued growth. It also includes a summary of recent development and market growth, as well as a statistical snapshot of Westshore today. As we head into 2018, the Alliance remains focused on improving Westshore and making the right moves for its future. We could not accomplish all that we do without the help of you our members dedicated board of directors, committee chairs and volunteers. Thank you for all that you do. 4 Biotech giant Amgen relocated its California-based Capability Center to Westshore s Corporate Centers with plans to add 400 employees by the end of BlueLine Associates relocated its international headquarters to Tampa Bay Park, creating 150 new jobs and investing $2 million in the local community. McKibbon Hospitality completed its national headquarters expansion in Avion Park. Residential Acceptance Corporation opened offices at 5027 W. Laurel St. and invested $1.6 million to renovate its new headquarters. WhatSUP Paddle Sports paddle board, kayaking and bike rental company opened at Ben T. Davis Beach. CWU, Inc. opened offices at the Westshore Technology Center, investing $2.5 million in its new headquarters. Environmental Pest Services opened new corporate headquarters at Bay West Center. Tribridge, a DXC Technology company, relocated headquarters to One Urban Centre. PurePoint Financial opened its newly constructed office at 1510 N. West Shore Blvd. Florida Funders expanded its technology investment firm and collaborative workspace by relocating to the Austin Center. Keating Resources invested $4.5 million to renovate four industrial buildings at the Westshore Business Center. College Hunks Hauling Junk & Moving opened its national headquarters in Drew Park.

Steinbrenner Field The Tampa Bay Buccaneers 100,000-square-foot indoor practice facility with WOMEN S CARE FLORIDA seating capacity of 3,500 Tampa International Airport s 1.4-mile SkyConnect People Mover, a 2.6 million square-foot consolidated rental car facility, and main terminal expansion AC Hotel Tampa Airport, 4020 W. Boy Scout Blvd., 175-room hotel, Developer: PRISA Group and Peachtree Hotel Group View all major Westshore development projects at BREAKING GROUND Lifsey Real Estate Holdings and Pinnacle Hotel Management broke ground on the 10-story, Marriott Autograph Collection hotel named CURRENT, which will house 180 rooms, 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space and a rooftop terrace. The 2500 N. Rocky Point Drive hotel, which overlooks the waters of Tampa Bay, will feature an upscale restaurant, retail space by Tampa's Oxford Exchange and Buddy Brew coffee. Opening is scheduled for late Hillsborough Community College celebrated the groundbreaking of its Allied Health Building, which will house 62,000 square feet of primary care and diagnostic programs including a state-of-the-art simulated hospital environment. Programs offered in the new facility will create a future workforce of nurses, emergency medical services technicians, respiratory care therapists, and medical lab technicians. Opening date is scheduled for spring 2019.
6 MEMBER PROGRAMS Nearly 30 events were hosted by the Westshore Alliance in 2017, including monthly luncheons with keynote speakers, after-hours networking, the Westshore Development Forum, Annual Meeting, Ron Rotella Golf Classic, and WESTSHORE 101 monthly informational breakfasts. We welcomed 67 New members to the Westshore Alliance in Thank you to our 400 member companies for your continued support! NEW IN 2018: Launch of Explore Westshore leadership development and board mentorship program New GrowthZone member software to provide online member networking opportunities and streamline event registration and online renewals Member Luncheon: One Buc Place 2017 Annual Dinner Development Forum Ron Rotella Golf Classic Westshore 101 Cigar City Brewing Networking TRANSPORTATION The Alliance remains focused on transportation, which has long been a top priority. In 2017, Alliance leadership and Transportation Committee members began work on the Westshore Transportation Action Plan designed to improve transportation options and address mobility needs. Plan implementation will occur in Additionally, the Alliance continues advocating for transportation improvement projects to elected officials and the various agencies responsible for funding allocations and project implementation. The view the new online map of Westshore transportation projects which are planned, under construction or recently completed, visit NOW OPEN: 10 new comfort areas, bike repair stations, bench swings and new landscaping along the Courtney Campbell Trail. This initiative was led by the Courtney Campbell Scenic Highway Committee, and the Westshore Alliance plays an active role as a committee member.
7 PUBLIC SAFETY Public safety and crime prevention are top priorities in Westshore, which is why the Alliance has close working relationships with the Tampa Police Department, business representatives and private property security personnel. Several initiatives take place each year to help ensure Westshore is a safe place for all workers, residents and visitors. 18% 2017 INITIATIVES: Quarterly safety and emergency preparedness seminars Quarterly safety and security e-newsletters Emergency Re-entry Program Weekly Crime Trend Reports Be-On-the-Lookout BOLO Alerts Proactive approaches and focused crime reduction programs led to a nearly 18% decrease in Westshore s major crimes in 2017 compared to DISTRICT MARKETING Westshore Alliance marketing and communications initiatives promote District activities and position Westshore as a premier work, live, play and stay destination located in the heart of the Tampa Bay region. These initiatives are accomplished through a variety of print and digital platforms including: e-newsletters, website, social media, print advertising, video, market research, community and media relations. In 2017, the Alliance launched two interactive maps highlighting major development and transportation projects throughout Westshore. The project features more than 30 development projects and more than 20 transportation projects either planned, under construction or recently completed. Additionally, more than 1,100 Westshore workers and residents participated in the Alliance s inaugural Westshore District-wide survey designed to gain stronger insights on the demographics, perceptions and activities of those who work and/or live in Westshore. Survey results will be presented at the 2018 Development Forum. EXPLORE WESTSHORE New interactive maps feature more than 50 of Westshore's major development and transportation projects which are planned, under construction or recently completed.
