2 Invitation to Attend It is with pleasure that we invite you to attend the XXII Scientific Meeting of the Australian Society for Colposcopy & Cervical Pathology Inc (ASCCP) in Hobart, 5th - 8th May The venue for the meeting is The Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart, the city s premier CBD hotel situated on Hobart s waterfront We hope that you will be able to join us for the meeting and look forward to seeing you in Hobart. The ASCCP The purpose of the Society is to provide a forum for education & the dissemination of knowledge relevant to the diagnosis & management of the disease processes of the cervix, vagina & vulva. The Society also aims to advise learned bodies & government, & to establish relations with national & international organisations. About Hobart Hobart is the capital city of Australia s Island state Tasmania. Nestled beside the River Derwent, it has the magnificent Mount Wellington rising above it. With a population of approximately 220,000 Hobart offers a city like feel, without the crowds and constant rush of city living. As one of Australia s oldest settlements it has a rich and varied history. It is a city of culture, tradition and hospitality famous for its locally sourced culinary delights and award winning wines. There is a great variety of activities and attractions. Whether you are interested in nature s beauty, for which Tasmania is renowned, or charming cafes and shopping, Hobart has it all. With the cleanest air in the world this beautiful place is great to just to unwind and relax in. ASCCP Committee of Management President: David Allen Immediate past President: Louise Farrell Call For Abstracts Submissions are invited for oral presentations in free communications sessions at the meeting. Abstracts should be no more than 250 words and be submitted no later than the 31st January, Papers submitted by authors considered to be early career investigators will be considered for the $1000 President s Prize, which is awarded at the discretion of the President. As far as possible, the data presented in the abstract should not have been published or presented at another major meeting. If previously presented, the author(s) must indicate where and when the data has been reported. 3 Invited Speakers Dr. Stanley J Robboy: MD, FCAP Dr. Robboy has been at Duke University for 19 years where he is Vice Chairman of the Department of Pathology, Chief of Diagnostic Pathology and senior author/editor of Robboy s Pathology of the Female Reproductive Tract. He trained at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, becoming an attending pathologist there and rising to associate professor at Harvard Medical School. He is a renowned lecturer in gynaecologic pathology and pioneered the unraveling of the DES (diethylstilbestrol) story. He has been Professor and Chairman of the Pathology Department, New Jersey Medical School and Commissioner for the State of New Jersey s Commission on Cancer Research. He has also been Trustee of the American Pathology Foundation and President of the Arthur Purdy Stout Society of Surgical Pathology. Currently, he is President-Elect of the College of American Pathologists. Dr Maggie Cruickshank Dr Maggie Cruickshank works as a Senior Lecturer/Honorary Consultant Gynaecologist within the Gynaecology Oncology Service in Aberdeen, Scotland with a special interest in colposcopy and vulva disorders. She is the lead clinician for colposcopy in Grampian region and is the President-elect of the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. She has a programme of research in pre-invasive disease of the lower genital tract, clinical research trials and molecular studies with Universities of Edinburgh, Dundee, Cambridge, Nottingham and Strathclyde and NHS Scotland. The focus of this work relates to Human Papilloma virus infection (HPV). She leads a health services research programme to investigate the impact of HPV immunisation on cervical screening and the role of HPV testing as a primary screening tool with collaborators in the Scottish HPV Investigators Research Network (SHINe). Dr. Muhieddine A-F Seoud: MD, FACOG, FACS Dr Muhieddine Seoud completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the American University of Beirut Medical Centre (AUBMC) and at the Eastern Virginia Medical School and the Jones Institute of IVF in Norfolk, Virginia. He then completed a fellowship in Pelvic Surgery and Gynecologic Oncology at the Kansas University Medical Center. On return to Beirut in 2001 he became Professor and acting chairman of the department at AUBMC. He has focused his research in the fi eld of gynaecological oncology and also HPV infection and cervical cancer. His fi elds of interest include the role of aggressive surgery in ovarian cancer, the role of genetics in recurrent molar pregnancy, the role of hormonal therapy, and the role of HPV vaccination in the prevention of cervical cancer. He has published and is currently working on the incidence of HPV in Lebanon and the Middle East. He is the past president of the Lebanese Ob-Gyn society. He has published over 90 original manuscripts and presented in over 130 scientific meetings. He is the recipient of several local and international grants. 2

To ensure you are registered for the Scientific Meeting, your completed registration form together with appropriate payment must be received by the published dates. Registration Entitlements Full Registration includes attendance to all sessions, a conference satchel, all publications, the welcome function, the conference dinner, cocktails at Government House, morning and afternoon teas and lunch each day. A Single Day Registration includes attendance to all sessions on your nominated day, a conference satchel, all publications, and morning and afternoon teas and lunch on your nominated day. Please note: Single Day Registration prices are available on application. This price does not include social functions; however tickets may be purchased via the registration form. Registration Cancellation Policy Registration cancellations will not be accepted unless made in writing. Cancellations made before 1st April 2011 will incur an administration cost of $160. No registration refunds will be made after this date. As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person before the 25th April 2011 without incurring any cost penalty. Registration transfers made on or after 25th April 2011 will incur a $25 processing fee. The Scientific Meeting managers must be advised in writing of any alterations or transfers. 5

For international fl ights that do not fl y into Hobart, you will require a domestic fl ight By Sea The Spirit of Tasmania operates from Melbourne to Devonport and this is often a popular option for visitors seeking to explore more of Tasmania. The Distance from Devonport to Hobart is approximately a 3 hrs 30 min via the Midlands Highway Airport Transfers Hobart Airport is 15 kilometers from the CBD. Allow 20 minutes by Taxi. Taxi Taxis are available from the taxi rank which is located directly in front of the Terminal. The shuttle departs outside the terminal after the arrival of every fl ight transferring passengers to The Hobart CBD.
