Key historical artefacts are incorporated into these sessions to provide opportunities for hands-on learning. Students are challenged to think critically and creatively through discussion and debate facilitated by NFSA educators. G1 3.00pm Museum of Australian Democracy, Old Parliament House, 18 King George Terrace, Parkes Ph: The museum offers onsite programs for school groups that explore the history of Australian democracy. The programs designed for school groups closely tie in with the Australian curriculum, specifically relating to Civics and Citizenship and Australian History. This is the principal residence of the Governor-General and the main administrative centre for the Office. Group 1 Reconciliation Place Guided Walking Tour (organised through 10.00am National Capital Exhibition meeting point Old Parliament House, 18 King George Terrace, Parkes Ph: Reconciliation Place is in the heart of Australia s National Capital. It is a public space, a pathway along which inspiring artworks offer a lasting symbol of our shared journey and the shared history of Indigenous and non-indigenous Australians. Take in Lake Burley Griffin, many of Canberra's national attractions and the mountain ranges surrounding the city. See great views of the Australian War Memorial, Anzac Parade and Parliament House. The park is constantly growing with the popular addition of the International display area, which complements the original English Village and its beautifully established gardens. Ferry ride across to Taronga Zoo pm Taronga Park Zoo, Bradley s Head Road, Mosman Ph: The nation s leading zoological garden, featuring Australia s finest collection of native animals and a diverse collection of exotic species.
