1 Press March 2015 Final Report International Symposium for Technical Textiles, March, 2015 Renaissance Moscow Monarch Center, Moscow, Russia Natalia Kryukova Tel..: , ext. 142 Fax: Natalia.Kryukova@russia.messefrankfurt.com The eighth International Techtextil Russia Symposium for Technical Textiles, took place on March 18-19, 2015 in the Renaissance Moscow Monarch Center Hotel, Moscow, Russia. This year the main topic of the Symposium was «New Developments and Applications of Fibrous Based Materials». The forum was attended by 172 delegates from 92 companies, including representatives of professional associations, experts of Russian and foreign companies and research institutes, as well as media partners. Moderator of the Symposium was chief editor of Technical Textiles magazine (Russian Trade Marks Publishing House) Andrey Magarik. The geography of the participants of the Symposium was also extensive. It included such countries as Belarus, Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Latvia, Russia and Ukraine. This indicates that the Russian market of technical textiles and nonwovens remains attractive and promising for foreign companies. The program of the symposium was full of reports and presentations of scientific and practical focus, highlighting experience in the development of materials with new properties, the practice of implementation and development of new technologies, trends in the development of technical textiles and nonwovens in Russia and abroad. 2 Page 2 Director of the Russian Union of Builders gave welcoming speeches at the official opening of the Symposium. Plenary session was opened by Michael Jaenecke, who gave an overview of the world market for technical textiles and highlighted the trends of its development in the leading producing countries. The presentation of Vasiliy Guschin, Director General JSC "CTC "IVREGIONSYNTHES" aroused great interest. He presented the plan of formation of industrial parks, technology parks and engineering center in the Ivanovo region. In addition, the speaker talked about the project of construction of the complex for the production of PET. His statement provoked heated debate and a lot of questions given the acute shortage of raw materials in the Russian market of technical textiles. Ekaterina Lavrentieva, Deputy General Director of Innovation Center for Textiles & Light Industry continued the plenary session. The speaker placed emphasis on necessity to form a national technology base for the production of axial textile fabrics as the basis of composite materials. Currently, a large part of the domestic demand for multiaxial materials is satisfied through import. Oleg Kashcheev, President Assistant of Moscow State University of Design and Technology told about the problems of technical regulation of the Customs Union in the field of technical textiles. New developments of Russian scientists to create fabrics with bio-flame protective properties were presented in the presentation of Head of lab, Institute of Solution Chemistry of Russian Academy of Sciences Andrey Moryganov. The problem of ensuring fabrics and materials to create functional and special protective clothing were devoted to reports of the President of the Russian Union of Clothing Producers Svetlana Belyaeva and President of the Association of Personal Protection Equipment Yuriy Sorokin.

3 Page 3 The Symposium was continued with the section "Functional clothes". At present, taking into account the growing demand for clothes with special properties, both in Russia and in the world, it is in this direction that specialists see opportunities for significant progress. David Randall, Director of Development, PIL Membranes, gave a detailed survey concerning already existing types of membranes, features of their application, as well as selection criterion for producing functional apparel textiles. This report caused increased attention demonstrating great interest to this theme among the Russian specialists and experts. Continuing the topic of the usage of innovative materials, the representative of "Smart Materials" Sergey Korolev presented a report about "smart textiles" and its effect on the human body. According to him, the idea of production of anti-aging and antibacterial laundry in their company was formed right after attending Techtextil Russia Symposium The second day of the symposium was devoted to a wide range of topics: polymeric fibrous composites, filtration materials, fiber based heat insulation materials, as well as fabric structures materials. 4 Page 4 The Symposium brought together representatives from such companies as Armocom, BASF, Wacker Chemie AG, Damir Textile, Dilo Group, Glass Fibre Plant LLC, PF Kadoteks, Gexa, Komitex, Lenta, Lommeta GC, Netkan, Nipromtex, JX Nippon ANCI SAS, HP Pelzer RUS, Peredovaya Tekstilshcitsa, Prepreg SKM, Respiro Corporation, Ruscompozit GC, Serge Ferrari, Sibur, Textima Export Import, Smart Materials, All world nonwovens, Tchaikovsky textile, Edana, Eco-kom and others. The Symposium was accompanied by mini-exhibition, attended by such companies as Dilo Group, JX Nippon, and PIL Membranes. The participants had the opportunity to get advertising materials, exchange views and get expert answers from representatives of these companies. The Symposium was officially supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Russian Union of Builders, Union of Composites Manufacturers, Russian Union of Clothing Producers, and Association of Personal Protection Equipment. Information partners were business publishers, leading specialized magazines, newspapers and Internet portals.
