1 Robert Brown General Manager International Australia Air Express Mr Brown is a qualified accountant with over 28 years in the international aviation industry, both in Australia, UK and the USA. Since 2002 he has been employed with AaE - Australian air Express (joint venture of Australia Post and Qantas) as the General Manager International and a member of the AaE Executive team with responsibilities for all Australian international cargo operations (ie CNS, BNE, OOL, SYD, CBR, MEL, HBA, DRW, ADL, PER) and over 165 staff. Previously, he was employed with Ansett Airlines ( ) involved in international cargo handling, freight forwarding operations and the related financial administration in Australia and overseas. Mr Brown, represents AaE on the IATA Ground Handling Council and the IATA Cargo 2000 Association. Steve Collins General Manager Repair and Procurement Unitpool Unitpools ULD fleet. Steve Collins has worked in the Aviation industry for 20 plus years, This has included several operational roles for British Airways World Cargo, prior to retiring from British Airways in 2008, his last role was as Manager Support Services, which included all ULD related matters. During this tenure Steve served for five years as Chairman of the IATA ULD technical panel and as Vice Chairman of the ULD user group. Steve worked with a net manufacturer on a short term contract after leaving BA before joining Unitpool as General Manager Repair and Procurement, the key part of this role is managing the 45 plus repair contractors who maintain Hans Fischer Corporate Airfreight Consultant Kuehne + Nagel Management AG, Switzerland Hans Fischer is Corporate Airfreight Consultant, joined Kuehne + Nagel in Bremen / Germany as Vice President in July Since that time Mr. Fischer was engaged as International Airfreight Forwarder at the airports Bremen, Stuttgart and Frankfurt. From 1989 until 2010 as Managing Director he was responsible for the Kuehne + Nagel European Consolidation Hubs. Hans Fischer`s career prior joining Kuehne + Nagel started almost in 1963 with an apprenticeship for International Freight Forwarding and 7 years as Airfreight Manager with two IATA Cargo Agencies. He is married, has two daughters and enjoys travelling, tennis and his family. 1
2 David Harman Managing Director Unitpool Ltd 2011 World Cargo Symposium David has 28 years of experience in the airline industry, the last 20 of which have been in management roles, and spread across a variety of disciplines. Immediately prior to joining Unitpool in 2007 David was Vice President Global Cargo Operations at Swissport which followed two years of line responsibility as VP Cargo EMEA. David moved to Swissport from Swissair Cargo, where he d managed the UK and Ireland and then moved to Head Office to manage the implementation of a revenue management system and to take control of the distribution and purchasing of contracted capacity. Stuart Hayman Vice President Cargo Operations Dnata Stuart Hayman has been in the air cargo logistics industry for 22 years. He was appointed to his current role of Vice President Cargo Operations at Dnata in March In this role he has responsibility for Dnata s Cargo Terminal operations in the Dubai Airport Free Zone (FreightGates 3, 4 and 5), Jebel Ali Free Zone (FreightGate 7) and at the new DWC-Al Maktoum International Airport (FreightGate 8) located in Dubai Logistics City. Prior to joining Dnata he enjoyed a 19 year career in the Freight Division of Australia s largest airline, Qantas Airways. His roles at Qantas ranged from an entry level office clerk role, through to sales, operations, information technology and strategic management roles at General Manager level. During his career at Qantas Stuart was based in Sydney, Los Angeles and Bangkok and included the establishment of a new all-cargo airline in Thailand. Earlier this year Stuart was inducted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and, more recently, has completed further studies to achieve a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) specialising in Logistics and Supply Chain Management through Emirates Aviation College and Coventry University in the UK. Frédéric Léger Head Cargo Process and Standards International Air Transport Association Mr. Léger is Head of Cargo Business Process within the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and is Secretary of the Cargo Services Conference. Its main focus is on the delivery of a simplified air cargo industry supply chain process and the development of new industry standards providing one simple foundation for e-freight, Cargo 2000, Air Mail and Security. Prior to Cargo, Mr. Léger was head of IATA Electronic Invoicing Services, managing IATA InvoiceWorks, an Internet-based electronic invoicing platform focused on the air transport industry with over 260 airlines and more than 5,550 industry suppliers connected. As part of his accountabilities Mr. Léger was also leading industry task forces to develop and maintain Industry Standards to facilitate the adoption of electronic invoicing in the air transport industry. Before joining IATA, Mr. Léger as Head of Products and Standards, participated to the development of CPGmarket.com, a startup founded by Danone, Henkel, Nestle and SAP in March CPGmarket.com is the leading European esupply Chain marketplace in the Consumer Packaged Goods Industry that offers a set of integrated e-procurement and e-supply chain solutions over the Internet to support the complete procure to pay cycle. Accenture acquired CPGmarket.com in Mr Léger studied Supply Chain and Finance and completed his Master's degree in Strategy with honours. He began his career within Cap Gemini, one of the world s largest providers of Consulting, as a Business Consultant managing worldwide SAP 2
3 implementations, before joining biomerieux, a major player in the field of in vitro infectious disease diagnostics, to lead an ERP implementation in the Italian subsidiary. Ruilin Li Inspector of Safety Management Section Air China Cargo Mr. Li, Ruilin is Safety Inspector of Air China Cargo as well as Head of Cargo in China Air Transport Association. Mr. Li graduated from Transport Management Department of Civil Aviation College of CAAC, P. R. China in 1983 and joined in Cargo Section of Beijing Administration/ Chinese airlines/ Air China where he got operations experiences. Mr. Li was the assistant to the Managing Director of Cargo Section in 1987 to manage cargo manuals and training including the cargo training to CA Technical School in Beijing. Mr. Li was promoted as Manager of Air China Special Cargoes in 1994, nominated as Inspector of Operational Specification of Air China in 1999, and became the Safety Inspector of Air China in 2001 dealing with airlines cargo and ground operational matters according to ICAO Annex 6 and IATA standards as well as safety management according to ICAO SMS and SeMS. Mr. Li was member of IATA Live Animals and Perishables Board and is currently the IATA ULD Panel member. Zhi Yong Liao Manager, Cargo Business Process & Standards International Air Transport Association Mr. Liao is responsible for the development of ULD technical/ operational standards through the IATA ULD Panel and ULD Operational Advisory Group. He is also responsible for the management of the IATA Cargo Claims & Loss Prevention Conference. Mr. Liao joined IATA in June 2005 and has been involved in various industry standards development groups such as Cargo Services Conference, Cargo Procedures Conferences Management Group, Cargo Business Processes Panel, AWB Completion Advisory Group, and also successfully led special industry task forces such as e-freight Interlining Task Force and US Domestic e-freight Task Force. Prior to IATA, Mr. Liao worked with China Southern Airlines and China Air Express for more than 7 years, where he was mainly responsible for cargo operations, business development, and network expansion. Jiawei Liu Director, Calibration and Standard Office, Safety and Technical Center Mr. Liu, Jiawei is Director of Standardization and Calibration Office of China Academy of Civil Aviation Science and Technology. Mr. Liu graduated from Peking University in 1982 and joined CAAC in He has worked with CAAC for nearly 25 years. Mr. Liu has extensive experience in standardization of civil aviation and is secretary of National Technical Committee 359 on Air Cargo and Ground Equipment of Standardization Administration of China. 3
4 Xiaojie Liu Deputy Director, Calibration and Standard Division, Aircraft Airworthiness Certification Department Mr. Liu, Xiaojie is the Deputy Director of Engine Certification Division of Aircraft Airworthiness Certification Department of CAAC. Mr. Liu graduated from Beihang University of China in 1989 and joined Flight Inspection Center of CAAC in He worked with CAAC for nearly 17 years in different roles including Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Deputy Director of Engineering Department, Deputy Director of Financing Department, and Deputy Director of General Department of BFIC of CAAC. Mr. Liu obtained MBA from the University of International Business and Economics in He has extensive experience in aircraft maintenance engineering management, A/C engine production certification, and maintenance organization certification. Ron B. Nieuwenhuizen Senior Account & Contract Manager Amsterdam Airport Schiphol Group Ron has been working for Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in various positions for over 20 years and has extensive experience in Airport Management. As a Commercial Manager Airside, he was responsible for the implementation of the Council Directive 96/67/EC of 15 October 1996 on access to the groundhandling market at Community airports. In his current position he is responsible for Business relations with the independent Passenger Ground Handling Companies at Amsterdam Airport as well as for a large number of airline accounts. In addition he manages concession agreements with the Fuel Concessionaires. Together with the operating Ground Handling companies and the Schiphol Aircraft Operating Committee, he developed a comprehensive ULD policy and control management system for Schiphol Airport. Jim Owens Vice President Global Cargo As vice president of Global Cargo, Jim Owens is responsible for UPS air cargo operations in more than 170 gateway cities worldwide. Jim oversees the air cargo unit s global workforce of 300 people, including 150 employees based at the Air Cargo Service Center in Louisville, Ky. Before taking on his current position in 2005, Jim spent eight years in Japan, where his last assignment was vice president of North Asia responsible for UPS Japan and Korea. Jim joined UPS in 1977 in the industrial engineering group at the West New York District. A year later, he was promoted to supervisor in the industrial engineering department and in 1984, became manager. Jim has operational experience in UPS small package centers, air gateways, sorting hubs and center preload operations. Jim was instrumental with phasing-in acquisitions that fortified UPS s European expansion in the late 1980s. These included the acquisition of IML, and a United Kingdom-based forwarding operator. In 1990, after more than a year in Europe, he was assigned to the startup team for a joint venture between UPS and Yamato Transport. Among his many assignments at UPS corporate headquarters in Atlanta, Jim worked on systems deployment for the time-in-transit generator to improve our service performance across the international regions, and coordinated strategies for Asia. In 1997, Jim relocated to Tokyo with his family as the Olympic Project manager for the Nagano games. After the games concluded he assumed responsibility as the managing director of Japan operations. He was promoted in 1999 to vice president of North Asia Operations. During his tenure in Asia, Jim drove the project for UPS to assume 100 percent equity control of Japan operations. 4
5 While living and working in Tokyo, he served as co-chair of the Logistics Steering Committee for the Japanese-American Chamber of Commerce, and as president and vice president of Japan Express Association, an express trade group located in Tokyo. In 2005 he moved to Louisville, Ky., where UPS Airlines is based, and in 2008 relocated to Atlanta. Currently, Jim serves as a member of the ATA Cargo Council and IATA Cargo Committee. A native of Buffalo, New York, Jim attended Erie Community College and Buffalo State, where he studied Industrial Engineering and Management. He and his wife Kathy have two children, Kyle and Jillian. James Rigby ULD Control Manager Etihad Airways With 15 years of experience in Aviation, Airline & Ground Operations including 8 years associated with ULD. James joined Etihad Airways as the ULD Manager in 2009, previously having worked for Unitpool as the Airline Account & Regional Manager, Europe, North America and Africa. Under James direction Etihad has recently changed its outsourced ULD supply to Jettainer and will be one of the first airlines to switch to a 100% lightweight ULD baggage fleet. An active participant in the wider ULD and aviation community, James contributes to the Interline ULD User Group (IULDUG) as an Executive Committee Representative for EMEA and is a member of the IATA ULD Operational Advisory Group. Bob Rogers VP Industry Liaison Nordisk Aviation Products 2011 will mark 30 years since Bob Rogers first became involved in the ULD business, in this time he has been responsible for the operations of Nordisk Aviation Products in Asia Pacific, running sales, after-sales, and repair station operations across the fastest-growing region of the world's air cargo industry. His position has brought him into contact with airlines and ground handlers large and small, old and new, creating numerous opportunities to gain broad perspectives and experiences of the world of ULD operations. In its current position as VP Industry Liaison for Nordisk Aviation Products he is very involved in IATA sponsored industry developments such as the new IATA ULD operators training and ULDOAG. A long-term resident in Hong Kong, recently declared as the world's number one cargo airport, and a leading centre of ULD activity, he is committed to ensuring ULD operations contribute to efficient, safe and compliant air cargo operations. Jason Sandever Senior Aircraft Loading Inspector (UK CAA) Civil Aviation Authority UK Jason joined the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority in 2004, after operating for many years as a Loadmaster with a European cargo airline, having experienced both bulk and containerised operations. He is the sole Aircraft Loading Inspector, based at Aviation House, the Safety Regulation Group s headquarters at London Gatwick. His oversight duties includes full head office audits, ramp inspections of passenger and cargo operations and advising industry of best practice. Jason is also a founding member of the Ground Handling Operations Safety Team (GHOST) working group and heads the Aircraft Loading Subgroup. This joint industry venture lead by the CAA, was formed to analyze a number of the current topical issues, with the intention of improving safety standards. In collaboration with his industry colleagues, Jason is in the final stages of completing the team s first initiative, a Loading Awareness DVD, the target audience being everyone involved with the loading process. 5

Being with CAAC for nearly 30 years, he has worked as Electrical System Engineer, Airworthiness Inspector, Deputy Director and Director of the Continuing Airworthiness and Maintenance Division in the Aircraft Airworthiness Department and Flight Standard Department. Mr. Xu obtained his Master degree of Airworthiness from University of ENAC and ENSICA in 2003 and became a visiting professor of Civil Aviation University of China (CAUC). He also studied Public Policy in Duke University in year Mr. Xu has extensive experience in aircraft production certification and maintenance organization certification. He was responsible for establishment of policy, regulations and procedures for aircraft continuing airworthiness in CAAC. Sen Zhang Deputy Director of Aircraft Certification Division Mr. Zhang, Sen is the Deputy Director of Aircraft Certification Division of Aircraft Airworthiness Certification Department of CAAC. Mr. Zhang graduated from Civil Aviation Institute of China in 1989 and joined CAAC in He worked with CAAC for nearly 17 years in different roles including Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Airworthiness Inspector, Deputy Director of Continuing Airworthiness and Maintenance Division in AMECO, North China Administration of CAAC, and Beijing Supervisory Office of CAAC.
