2 Decisions COMMISSION DECISION establishing the ecological criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel for furniture Scrutiny of the European Parliament and of the Council ends on 30 June Adoption and publishing foreseen before end of July EU Ecolabel criteria and related assessment and verification requirements will be valid for six years from the date of its adoption. A transitional clause is established for EU Ecolabel licences awarded to wooden furniture in accordance with the criteria set out in Decision 2009/894/EC, which may be used for 12 months from the date of adoption of this Decision.

3 Decisions COMMISSION DECISION establishing the ecological criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel for footwear Scrutiny of the European Parliament and of the Council ends on 30 June Adoption and publishing foreseen before end of July EU Ecolabel criteria and related assessment and verification requirements will be valid for six years from the date of its adoption. A transitional clause is established for EU Ecolabel licences awarded to footwear in accordance with the criteria set out in Decision 2009/563/EC, which may be used for 12 months from the date of adoption of this Decision.

A transitional clause is established for EU Ecolabel licences awarded in accordance with the criteria set out in Decisions 2011/330/EU and 2011/337/EU, which may be used for 12 months from the date of adoption of this Decision.

8 Amendment Decisions (On-going) COMMISSION DECISION amending Decision 2014/350/EU establishing the ecological criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel for textile products WRITTEN VOTE PROCEDURE Criterion 1(c) Cotton pesticide testing: Deletion of the references to three pesticides (thiofanex, glycosulphate and triafanex) and amendment of the reference to Methyl-o-dematon. Criterion 14 Substitution of hazardous substances used in dyeing, printing and finishing: The text in the criterion and in the A&V will be amended, in order to include the reference to "mixtures", which is missing. Appendix 1 (EU Ecolabel Textile Restricted Substance List): Amendment of the text concerning 4 of the restrictions applying to all production stages [f(ii), f (iii), f(iii) and f(iv)]. The proposal is currently under discussion. Written vote procedure is expected to be launched by the beginning of September.

Vote by the Regulatory Committee will take place in June Displays Text of the final draft criteria (aligned with the current Energy Label and to the revised Ecodesign implementing measure for displays) is still on hold. Vote by the Regulatory Committee will take place in 2017.

10 Update on Photovoltaic Panels/Systems Photovoltaic Panels At the January 2016 EUEB meeting, it was decided to wait until the upcoming ECODESIGN Working Plan is adopted to evaluate the feasibility/suitability of developing EU Ecolabel criteria for this product group. The adoption of next ECODESIGN Working Plan is expected for the autumn. The new ECODESIGN Working Plan should reflect the political commitment of the Commission expressed in the Circular Economy Action Plan. In deciding which products to include, the environmental improvement and material efficiency potential (beyond energy efficiency) will be considered.

11 Task Forces Energy Task Force Aim: Development of a common EU Ecolabel criterion promoting low/zero carbon energy supplies and on-site generation for production sites. Planned to start in Task Force on Tourism Accommodation Services Aim: Promotion of the upcoming EU Ecolabel criteria for Tourism Accommodation Services. Planned to start in 2017, under the lead of AFNOR, France.

13 Website Updates (Others) Access to EU Ecolabel criteria documents under scrutiny by EP and Council As soon as the Commission uploads all linguistic versions of an EU Ecolabel draft criteria for which the Committee gave its positive opinion, to start scrutiny by the EP and Council, the documents can be consulted through the COMITOLOGY REGISTER PORTAL ( and through the EU Ecolabel website.

15 Website Updates (Others) OTHERS Lines concerning the product groups "Light Sources" and "Textile Floor Coverings" under the sub tab "PRODUCT GROUPS AND CRITERIA" from both "EU ECOLABEL FOR CONSUMERS" and "EU ECOLABEL FOR BUSINESS" were removed, due to the expiration of the validity of the related criteria. Lines concerning the product groups "Soil Improvers" and "Growing Media" under the sub tab "PRODUCT GROUPS AND CRITERIA" from both "EU ECOLABEL FOR CONSUMERS" and "EU ECOLABEL FOR BUSINESS" were removed, due to the fact that applications falling under the scope of Commission Decisions 2006/64/EC and 2007/799/EC are no longer possible.

16 Website Updates (Statistics) FACTS & FIGURES Page A statistical overview between September 2014 and March 2016 is provided with two charts showing the evolution of EU Ecolabel licences and products/services since the guidance on how to report EU Ecolabel statistics was released to Competent Bodies.

17 Website Updates (Meetings Schedule) Meetings Schedule 2017 EU Ecolabel CB Forum, EU Ecolabelling Board and EU Ecolabel Regulatory Committee meetings schedule for 2017 were uploaded.

18 Website Updates (Fees) EU Ecolabel Fees (May 2016) Whenever changes to the National EU Ecolabel Fees Structure established by each of the EU Ecolabel Competent Bodies is made, those modifications are reported to the Commission, in order to keep this information updated. Changes were reported by Belgium and an updated version was uploaded in May This information is available through the following link:
