2 Operated by the Baker County Council on Aging (904) Clay Transit Operated by the Clay County Council on Aging (904) provides the service to major destinations within Baker County via their Bobcat Shuttle. The Wildcat Shuttle connects passengers from Macclenny and Baldwin to employment destinations along US 90, Riverside and Downtown Jacksonville. The shuttle connects with multiple JTA fixed route services. Transit service is also available to the Lake City and Gainesville VA Medical Centers. Clay Transit serves Orange Park, Lake Asbury, Fleming Island, Middleburg, Green Cove Springs and Keystone Heights with connections to JTA at the Orange Park Mall and Black Creek Park-N-Ride. The Magenta Line connects with the Gainesville Regional Transit System (go-rts.com). Baker County is rural, but with the Bobcat and Wildcat Shuttles the opportunities are endless to help people get to where they need to go. I like riding Clay Transit. I ride it five days a week because I can use a dollar to get everywhere, especially to work.

3 Jacksonville Transportation Authority (904) JTA provides fixed route bus, bus rapid transit, shuttle, trolley and ferry services. With over 2,000 stops, JTA is the largest transit provider in the region. Though JTA operates primarily in Duval County, it connects with transit partners across the region: NassauTRANSIT Operated by Nassau County Council on Aging, Inc. (904) NassauTRANSIT provides county-wide service connecting Hilliard, Callahan, Yulee and Fernandina Beach to JTA at River City Marketplace and the Rosa Parks Transit Station. The Island Hopper local shuttle service operates Thursday through Monday in Fernandina Beach and connects with the county-wide system. It saves a whole lot of money for gas and it s pretty sweet!

4 Ride Solution (386) Sunshine Bus Company Operated by the St. Johns County Council on Aging (904) Ride Solution provides transit service covering Palatka, Green Cove Springs and Orange Park. It connects with Clay Transit and JTA at the Orange Park Mall, and the Sunshine Bus in Hastings. Ride Solution also provides Greyhound service to Gainesville, Jacksonville and St. Augustine and connects to Amtrak s Silver Service/ Palmetto line. The Sunshine Bus serves St. Augustine, St. Augustine Beach, Vilano Beach, Flagler Estates, Hastings, and along the U.S. 1 corridor to the Avenues Mall where it connects with JTA service. Service is also available from Hastings to Palatka where it connects with Ride Solution. As our counties grow, we need to be able to navigate between them. I ride Ride Solution because it s a lot easier than dealing with traffic. The Sunshine Bus is the perfect way to get from near our house to here so our teacher can pick us up. We get to know the bus driver and other people on the bus.

5 Across town and across the region, public transit helps people get to work, school, shopping centers, medical appointments, entertainment venues and recreation areas. Six transit providers serve our region with local service and regional connections. Nearly 14 million trips are taken on transit each year in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns counties. Riding transit helps you save money on gas and parking, and reduces the stress of driving. It also helps the environment by saving fuel, reducing emissions and decreasing congestion. Even if you don t need transit to get where you want to go every day, it comes in handy if your car breaks down or your usual method of transportation isn t available.
