OLD EDWARDS OLD FASHIONED Ice mixing glass 1/2 full with cracked ice Add 1/4oz Old Fashioned syrup Add 2oz Four Roses Yellow label 1 dash Angostura bitters Combine ingredients and stir well Slice a wide swath of orange peel Over a flame, express the oils across the surface of the drink Garnish with a speared Luxardo cherry, the flamed orange peel and bitters Seasonally Scrumptious Persimmon Bread ~ Early Girl Eatery s John Stehling Ingredients 1 c. persimmon pulp 1 ½ tsp. baking soda 8 oz. flour ½ tsp. nutmeg ½ tsp. ginger 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 ½ tsp. baking powder ½ tsp. salt 4 oz. lt brown sugar 2 oz. butter 1 egg 1 c. raisins and 1 c. nuts Instructions Preheat oven to 350 degrees F Grease a loaf pan Combine pulp and soda; let stand 5 minutes Mix together flour, spices, baking powder and salt Cream sugar and butter, beat in egg and add persimmon-soda mix Add to flour mix Stir raisins and nuts into loaf pan Bake minutes
