2 Brief History of Argentina Argentina has been inhabited since the Paleolithic period. For most of it s pre columbian history Argentina was sparsely populated by many diverse cultures such as the Diaguita people. Spanish colonization began in 1542, when Argentina was part of the Viceroyalty of Peru. In 1776, former provinces of the Viceroyalty of Peru became the Viceroyalty of Rio de la Plata, which had similar borders to modern-day Argentina. In 1810, the May Revolution began, which was the beginning of the Argentine War of Independence. Pro-independence forces, led by José de San Martín, secured the independence of Argentina, Chile and Peru. The early days of Argentine independence were characterized by civil unrest and violence in between rival political forces, Unitarians and Federalists. Following the reunification of Argentina, an era of massive immigration mostly from Europe (especially Italy) began the creation of the modern Argentine nation.

3 Brief History of Argentina In 1916, Hipólito Yrigoyen, a progressive known as the father of the poor was elected president of Argentina. His rule was violently ended by a military coup which founded the so-called Infamous Decade, a period of far-right rule characterized by economic depression. Among immigrant and working class communities, ideas of communism, anarchism and radical trade unionism were especially popular in this time period. The 1946 election resulted in the massively popular Juan Perón being elected as president. Perón s populist rule involved nationalizing strategic industries and achieving nearly full employment. In 1955, another coup resulted in Perón s exile. The era that followed was known as the guerra sucia or Dirty War. The Dirty War was a period of state terrorism where an estimated 15,000 to 30,000 people, primarily leftists and other political enemies, were disappeared and murdered. The 1983 elections began the modern era and signified the end of the Dirty War.

First time it was climbed in 1952 by 2 French guys Guido Magnone and Lionel Terray. Also attracts photographers.

Ushuaia: It's the capital of Tierra del Fuego and a major tourist attraction in argentina where there's a lot of hotels, places to eat and casinos. This place is also can be used to get to up to the antarctic.

7 7. La Boca: Is located in the Buenos Aires. It s a popular neighborhood for people who go there to visit with the wonderful colorful houses. Also in the Caminito translated Little street wasn't always a street. It was originally a stream until the water dried up then train tracks were build on the dry land. Than the train tracks got removed and it became a landfill where Bueno aires was build. In the Caminito street is a good place to watch artist who are working and see their wonderful art work. There's a lot of famous people who perform music such as the Tango.

It's a beautiful place to hike in and can go on cable car rides on the mountains when they are available. It a big national park. You wouldn't regret going there.
