Atomistic simulations of wettability were conducted in an effort to characterize the solid-liquid interactions. This information was used to investigate the influence of the wettability of solid surfaces on the heat transfer in nanoconfined water. University of Guanajuato at Salamanca Jan June 2016 Graduate Research Assistant Design and modeling of non-conventional single-phase cooling devices for high-power electronics. Several flow pattern configurations were proposed and investigated in order to decrease the pressure drops and increase the dissipated heat. These designs were analyzed and the results were published and innovation awards were obtained. A national award granted by Santander Bank was obtained. Single-phase modeling of fuel cells devices was conducted. Different types of studies were conducted: non-conventional flow patterns for PEM fuel cells and models of production/consumption for direct sodium borohydride fuel cells. The results were published and innovation awards were obtained.

2 The University of Arizona June August 2014 Undergraduate Research Intern Tucson, Arizona, USA 3-D single-phase modeling of high temperature PEM fuel cells was conducted. The effects due to the variations of several design parameters were studied. The aim of this study was to find and propose a base-line in the design of conventional serpentine flow pattern in high temperature fuel cells based on the pumping power and the power production. The results of this work were published. TEACHING EXPERIENCE University of Guanajuato, Campus Irapuato-Salamanca Jan June 2016 Part Time Instructor Instructor for several undergraduate level courses, such Energy Cells, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems, Design of Heat Transfer Equipment, and Thermal Power Plants. I was the instructor in charge of delivering every class, the design of the evaluation criteria, exams, and assignments grading. This labor was monitored by an academic faculty. I served as the founder and first president of the Guanajuato Beta Theta student chapter. This student chapter is the first international chapter from a university which is not related with any university in the US. Intercultural Exchange Program MIT-UG October 2015 Organizer and Participant Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA As part of the activities of the Pi Tau Sigma and ASME student chapters from the University of Guanajuato an intercultural exchange was accomplished. 15 students from University of Guanajuato visited the MIT facilities while 10 students from the MIT visited University of Guanajuato. As president of the Guanajuato Beta Theta student chapter my role was to organize the schedule and visits for the MIT students. Intercultural Exchange Program Texas A&M-UG October 2015 Organizer College Station, Texas, USA As part of the activities of the Pi Tau Sigma and ASME student chapters from the University of Guanajuato an intercultural exchange was accomplished. 10 students from University of Guanajuato visited the Texas A&M facilities while 10 students from the Texas A&M visited University of Guanajuato. As president of the Guanajuato Beta Theta student chapter my role was to organize the schedule and visits for the Texas A&M students. 3 rd Encounter of Young Researchers September 2015 Mentor Mentored two scientific projects which were presented in the 3 rd Encounter of Young Researchers organized by University of Guanajuato and the Mexican National Science and Technology Council (CONACYT). The projects won the 2 nd and 3 rd place for their quality and originality. My role was to provide professional and technical guidance during the development of the simulations and the data analysis.
