10 COLLECTION SERVICE You can call your accommodation using the free phones located in Terminals A and B in the Saas-Fee car park. Guests travelling by public transport can use the complimentary phones in the PostBus waiting room or the Saas-Fee Tourist Information Centre. Please note: The hotels and some holiday apartments in Saas-Fee offer a free collection service. Please ask your host for more information or refer to the rental contract/brochure. 11 WASTE DISPOSAL / RECYCLING Saas-Fee: Please deposit your rubbish bags, Paper, PET and glas bottles at the recycling centre at the entrance of the village. Please note: All guests who use a parking space for camper vans in Saas-Fee must register at the Saas-Fee Tourist Information Centre after arrival to pay the tourist tax. Saas-Grund: Please deposit the rubbish bags at the road side every Thursday and Friday morning. Recycling containers are behind the post office. Saas-Almagell: Please deposit the rubbish bags at the recycling container right at the bottom of the car park near the entrance to the village. Saas-Balen: Please deposit the rubbish bags at the road side every Thursday and Friday morning. Recycling containers are at the school house. SKI DEPOT Saas-Fee Several sports shops and hotels/ guest houses have ski depots very close to the Bergbahnen (cableways). Lockable ski stands are available at the Spielboden valley station. The Alpin Express has public ski lockers available for hire. Saas-Grund At Kreuzboden you can find ski lockers for individuals and groups. You can obtain the keys from the Bergbahnkasse in Saas-Grund. Reservation required! Please note: Paper (except in Saas-Fee) and cardboard (in all communities) must be tied together with feebased string, which can be purchased at the local government offices, at the Saas-Almagell Servicecenter or at most supermarkets. Please use the fee-based waste bags only. They can be purchased from the cashiers at the supermarked (also as singles). PUBLIC TRANSPORT Saas-Fee Local Bus Service The local buses connect the village to the Saas-Fee ski region. You can get the timetables and routes from the Saas-Fee Tourist Information Centre. They are also displayed on the piste map. PARKING SAAS-FEE Skibus Give your car a holiday too and take the ski bus to the Saas-Fee, Saas-Grund, Saas- Almagell and Saas-Balen ski regions. The journeys are free of charge with the Citizens' Pass. 25 DAY TRIP DESTINATIONS Britanniahütte, Saas-Fee (3,030 m above sea level) Erected in 1912 by British members of the Swiss club of the alps (Schweizer Alpen-Club SAC), it is one of the most visited SAC huts in the Alps and serves as a starting point for the Haute Route and other high Alpine tours. Hiking time from Felskinn mountain station is approx. 90 min. Please note: The Britanniahütte is open from March. Hannig, Saas-Fee (2,336 m above sea level) Enjoy yourself in the restaurant and soak up the sun on Saas-Fee's sun mountain. Who knows, with a little luck, you may see some of the local wild animals on the rock face. You can descend on foot or by sledge. Längfluh, Saas-Fee (2,870 m above sea level) On Längfluh you are closer to the glacier than anywhere else. The high glacier breakoffs are fascinating and the highest mountains in Switzerland majestically tower over them. Mittelallalin, Saas-Fee (3,500 above sea level) The highest located revolving restaurant in the world, the world s highest metro and the world s largest ice pavilion in one go. Downhill mountain bikers race on ice and snow and at top speeds of over 135 km/h, travelling from Mittelallain revolving restaurant Allalin at 3,500 metres all the way to the Saas-Fee village at 1,800 metres. The thought of it is enough to make even professionals break a sweat.
