2 IDEA THE SIGN EXCHANGE ABOUT THE SHOW There are currently about 20 shows a year, way more than this industry can support. With the introduction of The Sign Exchange by the USSC Foundation bold steps are being initiated. For the first time ever profits from the show are being returned to exhibitors, reducing up to 75% off current booth cost. There is no cost to attendee s for seminars or exhibit hall. 3 THE SIGN EXCHANGE Press Release United States Sign Council merges with USSC Foundation USSC FOUNDATION On Nov , the Board of Directors of the United States Sign Council voted unanimously to merge the USSC and all of its assets into the USSC Foundation. Starting January 1, 2018, the USSC will cease operations, and the USSC Foundation will assume all functions and activities associated with the past organization. The USSC Foundation has been the research wing of the United States Sign Council since 1999, and this rebranding will insure that the vital USSC Foundation research can continue into the future, to yield tangible benefits for sign companies and the sign industry in the areas of sign research and science-based codes. The USSC Foundation has funded over twenty-one (21) studies dealing with on-premise signs to date. Most recent projects have included: an up-to-date Model Sign Code, national guideline sign lighting standards, standardized sign illumination research, and national guideline sign size standards. All members of the United States Sign Council will become automatic Supporting Members of the USSC Foundation, and the Foundation will continue to provide member services. The USSC Foundation will be a donor-driven organization; this concept is revolutionary in the sign industry, and has already gathered favorable support. The USSC Foundation has a four (4) person board, and that board will handle management functions and Foundation responsibilities into the future. This management team represents a complete departure from previous management practices. The USSC Foundation Board consists of: Wendy Kern, Max Aronow, Richard Crawford and Neal Wilcox. The USSC Foundation represents a re-branding and repositioning for the organizations, to better serve the sign industry, ABOUT THE FOUNDATION 3

4 THE SIGN EXCHANGE For years the USSC has been asked by exhibitors to make changes to the SIGN WORLD show. With a foundation, who s board consists of four volunteers greatly reducing overhead so profits can be returned to the exhibitors. E X H I B I T O R S Here is what we propose: A $1,500 deposit required per booth, with an estimated 30-50% of deposit returned per booth. Two day show, reducing expenses from previous 2 1/2 day show. (no distractions to exhibit hall) FREE App for lead retrieval, just need smart phone or similar device. All exhibitors to offer attendees special show only discounts. Exhibitors will promote show thru s, counter top displays, decals on invoices, etc. If exhibitors truly help attendee awareness will greatly increase. FREE cocktail party, hors d oeuvres for all.
