7 TRAVELLING THROUGH HISTORY A BRAND SHAPED BY MEMORABLE EVENTS From the signing of the United Nations Charter to John Lennon s Bed-In for Peace, celebrities, politicians and royal families from all over the world have chosen Fairmont hotels as their home away from home. The history of the brand began in 1907 when Fairmont San Francisco, later christened Nob Hill s grand dame, opened its doors.
