3 HOW TO GET THERE Bilbao's international airport named La Paloma (the dove) was designed by architect Santiago Calatrava and is very near the city centre. It offers direct flights to Spain's main cities and several European capitals with connections to airports all over the world. It is the most important airport in the North of Spain in terms of passengers and economic impact.
