The capital of Kenya, Nairobi derives its name from the Masai phrase Enkare Nyrobi, which translates to cool waters, but is popularly known as the Green City in the Sun. Superior Room Balcony Room Executive Room Business Suite Located on the 3rd to 7th floors, these 30sqm rooms offer comfort and elegance. Contemporary designed rooms with an ergonomic work station, 40 inches flat screen TV, laptop size safe, mini bar, hairdryer and complimentary wireless or high speed internet access. The bathroom includes a bathtub and a separate shower. Smoking and non-smoking rooms are available. Located on the 4 th to 7 th floors, these rooms with a private terrace for guests to relax and enjoy the views of the Jacaranda trees in full bloom which are prominent and distinct for the city of Nairobi. Kempinski The Spa The hotel s Spa is located on the first floor, 1100sqm of nine private treatment rooms, a steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi. Kempinski The Spa is a journey inspired by the European cycle of the four seasons Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Drawing on the elements of the wisdom of nature, the treatments both invoke and restore the body s natural equilibrium. Some of the key activities include: 6 km to Kenya National Museum The museum is open from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Built in 1929, this is the flagship museum for the National Museums of Kenya, housing celebrated collections of Kenya's History, Nature, Culture and Contemporary Art. 19 km to David Sheldrick Sanctuary The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is the most successful orphan-elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world and one of the pioneering conservation organisations for wildlife and habitat protection in East Africa. The centre is open to the public daily from 11am to 12 noon, hotel guests may request concierge for private visit arrangement. 20 km to Giraffe Manor One of Nairobi s most iconic historical buildings dating back to the 1930s and it is reminiscent of the early days of Europeans in East Africa. Whilst the building itself resonates with the past, very much present is the herd of eight resident Rothschild giraffe who tend to visit the Manor in the mornings and evenings to greet guests and sniff out some snacks before venturing out into their sanctuary of 140 acres. 29 km to Nairobi National Park Nairobi National Park is unique by being the only protected area in the world with a variety of animals. 13

14 THE TEAM Anne Murungi, Director of Sales & Marketing Anne has a solid background of over ten years experience in the hospitality industry and brings with her a broad base of expertise in the fields of luxury sales and marketing, media relations, corporate communications and accounting. Anne is a Kenyan national and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Commerce at the University of Nairobi. She is a member of various professional networks including Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK), Skal International and the Kenya Association of Women in Tourism. Carole Keingati, Marketing & PR Manager Carole's professional background spans 10 years, working among some of Kenya's top media companies, in marketing and media capacities. For close to 7 years, she worked at Kenya s leading media house, the Radio Africa Group, serving as the Group Deputy Sponsorship Manager for the 6 fm radio stations as well as television and print divisions. This is her first foray into hospitality, a field that she was drawn to as a direct result of Villa Rosa Kempinski s entrance into the market, based on its unmatched brand status and excellence. A Kenyan National, Carole is fluent in English and Kiswahili and can communicate in spoken Swedish. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the United States International University in Nairobi (USIU-A). 14

15 Barnabas Wamoto, Executive Assistant Manager Barnabas joins the hotel from Intercontinental Hotel Nairobi where he held the position of Executive Assistant Manager. Prior to that, he has held several positions of responsibility at the Intercontinental hotel from receptionist, duty manager, front office manager to executive assistant manager. A Kenyan national, Barnabas is fluent in English, Romanian and Kiswahili, and also speaks basic Italian. Jaakko Eskola, Assistant Director of Food & Beverage Jaakko joins Villa Rosa Kempinski after a successful two years in Geneva where he held the position of Corporate Food & Beverage Manager reporting to Stéphane Bellon, Vice President Food & Beverage. Prior to joining Kempinski in June 2012, Jaakko gained experience in F&B in various positions in hotels, stand-alone restaurants and banqueting in Finland, Spain, Sweden and U.S. Jaakko holds a Bachelor s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from HAAGA-HELIA University of Applied Sciences, Helsinki, Finland. On top of his mother tongue Finnish, Jaakko is fluent in English and Spanish, and has a good knowledge of Portuguese and Swedish. 15
