Freehand supports the arts and is delighted to have our group at their location in February Freehand Miami 2727 Indian Creek Drive (On the corner of 28 th Street and Indian Creek Drive, parallel to Collins Ave) Miami Beach, Florida Located.06 miles from the main conference venue at Miami Beach Regional Library Please read the following carefully! Booking is open through November 30th, The rates are subject to change after 11/30/2016. At the time of reservation a 50% deposit is required to hold the stay and rest is paid on arrival. Any changes or cancellations will need to be advised two weeks prior to avoid forfeiting deposits. Rooms are available to our group ONLY based on availability. This means if the Freehand fills occupancy with other reservations before or after 11/30/ then you will need to locate other accommodations on your own for the conference. Availability for our conference attendees is not guaranteed. Please note that the Freehand Miami is very popular!! Booking early is critical.

2 Freehand Miami is both a hotel and a hostel. Note the difference between per person (hostel-style shared room, meaning beds can be booked by anyone) and per room (private rooms - not shared). View photos of rooms at their website Room descriptions: Super 8: Each 8-person room has two bathrooms in it (Hostel style) Quad: Each 4-person room has one bathroom in it (Hostel style) King room: w/private bath. This is a private room only. King Suite: w/private bath and adjacent sitting room. This is a private room only. Bungalow: w/private bath, sleeps 4 people, has full kitchen and lounge room. 5 Freehand Miami is a local hideaway, a hostel reinvented in a classic 1930 s building formerly the Indian Creek Hotel. Hidden on an overgrown side street near the ocean, in a garden filled with huge palms, old growth vines, and a rack of beach cruisers. This is a place that feels secret and under the radar, yet appealing in a way you cannot immediately define. Inspired by summer camp and bunk houses, it is a mixture of naiveté and sophistication. The design vision for Freehand is comforting, aspirational, and communal. The sixty-two rooms, which range from Standard Kings to Super 8 s, have a coastal vibe. Imagine the faded colors of a 1960 s era lifeguard school. The sturdy bunk beds are an integral part of the shared rooms and are built-in to recall the feel of a camp cabin, right down to the wooden ladders you can use to move from berth to berth. Sophisticated and spontaneous, Freehand inspires a communal spirit; it is more than just a place to crash for the night. Roman and Williams Design Firm collaborated on all aspects of the creation of Freehand Miami, including the naming, branding, and concepting. They chose the name and selected a hand drawn approach to the graphics to inspire a community that creates its own path. They created the communal spaces, including the lobby and outdoor patio that suggest a fugitive Floridian hotel meets bohemian rec room. Danish and tropical 1940 s furniture mingles with afghan throws, Turkish tapestries, and local Page 5 of 6

6 art. Dozens of vintage National Geographic Magazines fill the shelves. The pool area, lined with found furniture and striped chaises, with bottles in the trees, speaks to the spirit of being halfway between the Everglades and Havana. The Broken Shaker, with its vintage wallpaper and wooden paneling, has the feeling of a Pharmacia in a mangrove forest and spills onto the brick patio, creating intoxicating herbal concoctions served with unique local foods. If you set a movie at Freehand, it might be directed by Wes Anderson. Freehand Miami embraces an eclectic Americana, more phenomenon than hostel. Check-in time is 3pm Check-out time is 11am Front Desk is staffed 24/7 Q: Does Freehand Miami provide lockers? A: Lockers are provided. Padlocks can be purchased at the front desk for $5. Locker dimensions: 12 X 18 X 34 (or bring your own lock) Q: Does Freehand Miami serve breakfast? A: We offer a daily, complimentary breakfast from 8-10am. We are currently serving assorted fruits, authentic Cuban pastries, fresh juice and locally roasted coffee. Q: How close is Freehand Miami to the beach? A: Two (short) blocks! Beach towels are available at the front desk. A small deposit is required. Q: Is there a guest kitchen? Am I able to bring groceries? A: Yes and yes! The guest kitchen is open from 7am-10pm.
