1 SUPER BREEDER BLIKSEM GABY VAN DEN ABEELE!!!!! What is it that makes the «Bliksem /98» of GABY VANDENABEELE so exceptional! His results His descendants His origins The Bliksem, a grandson of the Wittenbuik, had a super season in He won several prizes within the provincial TOP 5 and on July 16 th 2000, he won the victory from Poitiers (538 km) Provincial. With his results, the Bliksem could have become National Ace-pigeon on the Middle Distance, if Gaby didn t let him race Bourges National on July 30 th and on Perigueux. From Perigieux, the Bliksem won a 5 th prize against old birds. That weekend, it only was the race from Bourges, that was important to get an Ace-pigeon. There was no other choice. Too bad, because the morel winner, the Bliksem, still had the lowest coefficient. The Wittenbuik was son of the Kleinen, B , for many years breeder nr. 1 of the loft. He never saw the inside of a basket but it was with him that the rush to the top of the Belgian pigeon sport began. Gaby has breed the Kleinen himself with which, as so many times in our sport, had the luck and the circumstances on his side. The father of the Kleinen, the Zitterke, B , was a bird in loan from Jozef Delodder from Zulte after he won a first prize from Orléans with hot weather and wind at the head. The Zitterke was only available for a short period and at that moment, Gaby didn t have a good hen to pair with the Zitterke because the best hens already were paired. Gaby got some help of his good friend Gilbert Van Parys, who

2 raced very well with the youngsters in those days. Without asking questions, Gilbert offered his Ameyke, B to pair with the Zitterke. Ameyke was one of the best hens of Gilbert.
