Sometimes the building is called simply the bowl. It was designed by Dashi Namdakov, a sculptor from Buryatia. The museum has a shop where visitors can sample and buy chak-chak (a Tatar sweet), baursak (puffy bread) and one other 19th-century dish recreated from an old recipe.
