Meetings and events at Sea Island can be as business-like and secure as the G8 Summit, or carefree, with loads of fun activities for children and families, plus all the traditional Sea Island pursuits such as golf on two championship courses. Because conferences during Sea Island summers often include children, the resort offers an extensive array of activities to entertain and educate while families make memories together. At Camp Cloister, begun in the 1960s and run by our Junior Staff, kids from 3 to 11 enjoy age-appropriate activities and games while conference attendees focus on the business at hand. While parents are meeting, kids can bring out their inner chef at Cookie Cutters, dress up for La-Tea-Da Tea Parties, or help haul in a seining net full of sea creatures and other treasures. Older teens may have their first shooting lesson at the Sea Island Shooting School, go ocean kayaking, spend the afternoon on a body board or fun cycle at the beach, or learn to sail a Hobie Cat. There is much to see and do, while making new lifelong friends. During their free time, grown-ups may choose to be active on the tennis court or golf course, swim at the Beach Club, take a spin class at The Cloister Spa, or shoot a round of sporting clays, among many other options. Or they may choose to simply relax with a facial or massage at the Spa or take a stroll on five miles of private beach. Through the creativity of our staff, most activities at Sea Island can be offered as a group opportunity as well, from shooting tournaments and castaway fishing trips to cruises on the vintage yacht Cloister Belle and glow-in-thedark putting contests.
