3 GENERAL INFORMATION The Upper Hunter Show invites all young beef enthusiasts to participate in the 2018 Upper Hunter Show Youth Camp. This event has been successful in creating and maintaining youth interest in Agriculture and related Rural Industries with a specific focus on the Beef Cattle Industry. It provides excellent opportunities for personal development and increasing self-confidence through parading competitions, judging competitions and public speaking along with a number of novelty events designed to keep the fun in the passion for the industry. Due to the popularity of this event this year s numbers will be capped to ensure quality time and instruction can be devoted to participants by experienced and enthusiastic instructors. The entry fee for the participants includes the full cost of the educational hands on and fun program, all meals from Friday morning tea to Saturday lunch, and a camp jacket for participants. Entry forms must be received by closing date. Participants are asked to supply own animals. Please note that if there are animal shortages it may be necessary for an animal to be shared by participants. There will be designated sleeping areas, which requires adult supervision for the participants choosing to stay on the show grounds. Please note that the Upper Hunter Show Society take no responsibility for the participants outside the program hours. The committee encourages all parents/carers to stay and get involved in the show. The success of this event relies on help and participation of parents/carers. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY Participants are to be under 21 years of age as of 1 st August If the participant is under the age of 18, a parent/carer must give consent of entry by signing the entry form. Whilst all reasonable precautions will be taken by the Committee members and the Upper Hunter Show Society to ensure the safety of all attendees, each Competitor or parent/carer signing this form agrees to indemnify the Committee, the Upper Hunter Show Society against any claim resulting from any accident or sickness that may occur at the event or associated with the event. Entries must be paid at the time of entry or entries will not be accepted Appropriate dress must be worn at all times. Sun protective clothing is recommended eg collared shirts. No thongs or joggers or other similar footwear allowed while working with cattle. NO ALCOHOL & SMOKING Strictly No alcohol to be consumed or smoking permitted. All participants enter at their own risk. Insurance and public liability is the responsibility of the competitor. Exhibitors/participants must supply their own equipment, feed and bedding. NO STRAW ALLOWED. No dogs will be allowed on the grounds 3

4 Any disruptive or unacceptable behaviour from any individual or group of individuals will not be tolerated. Such behaviour may result in disqualification from activities and/or exclusion from the grounds. All exhibits must have an acceptable docility and be broken to lead. Any animal not meeting these requirements may be withdrawn from competition/use All cattle must carry an NLIS device. PIC # for Muswellbrook Showgrounds is NB Nose grips/rings are compulsory for all animals at all times when being led. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OWNERS OF ANIMALS TO ENSURE ALL TRAVEL DOCUMENTS AND REQUIREMENTS AND HEALTH STATUS OF ALL ANIMALS CONFORM TO THE RELEVANT LEGISLATION. Accommodation/bedding is the responsibility of the participant/parent/carer however there will be designated sleeping areas. A night curfew for participants will be imposed during the camp. All electrical equipment and power cords must have a current test and tag status. Registrations will not be accepted without payment ALL FEES ARE NON REFUNDABLE Jackets will be supplied to all participants who have entered by the closing date. Liability in relation to any cattle remains with the owner. Any decisions/ directions given by the Upper Hunter Show Youth Camp Committee / Upper Hunter Beef Cattle Committee are final and must be adhered to. CATERING Meals for competitors are included in the registration fee. Please advise any dietary needs at time of registration. This includes Friday morning tea to Saturday lunch. Meals for parents/carers/others will be catered for a small fee of $40 dollars per person will apply. ACCOMODATION Camping on site at the show grounds is available for caravans/camper trailers etc. Shower and toilet facilities are available. Please note that the Upper Hunter Show are not responsible for participants outside the program hours. There are a number of motels close to the showground. Those wishing to camp in caravans must indicate on the registration form. If you require a powered site for a caravan an extra fee will be charged. 7 MEDICAL INFORMATION AND CONSENT FORM This form is intended to be used to assist in the case of any medical treatment required or medical emergency involving a Competitor, involved in the youth camp The Youth Camp collects the information contained in this form to provide or arrange first aid and other medical treatments for Competitors. The information collected will be held at the youth camp and made available to medical or paramedical staff in the case of an accident or emergency. The information contained in the form is personal information and it will be stored, used and disclosed in accordance with the requirements of the Privacy Act 1998(Cwth).
