1 MECAFLEX copany, created in Noveber 198 ais at the study, design, and fabrication of a wide range of coposite hoses. It s designed for petroleu, cheical products, suction or delivery, for loading and unloading tank trucks, decanting of lighters and vessels, pup roos, and oil ixing.

Cheical resistance Flexibility More flexible than ost any other hose types The any layers of plastic that are used in the construction of a coposite hose are not glued or sealed together. As a result of this, when coposite hose is oved or bent, the layers slide upon the other layers giving ease of bending and an excellent bend radius. 2. Saftey Coposite hoses are designed to be "fail safe" there are basically 2 areas on a coposite hose that can fail: a) The Hose Because of the any layer of tubes and fil that ake up a coposite hose there is not a direct leak path for liquid to follow. For a leak to occure, liquid ust surpentine its way through the any layers of the hose until it reaches the outer cover. Once the liquid reaches the outer cover, sall drops will for along the sea line indicating that a leak is occurring. In other types of hose, leaks are usually ore catastrophic. It is possible for the wall of the hose to rupture, without any warning, and create a large scale failure in the hose.

3 b) The End Fitting The end fittings on coposite hose are specifically designed to "fail safe" and reduce the chance of a fitting blowing off the end of the hose. Coposite hose fittings have a spiral shank or tail piece that actually screws into the coposite hose. Therefore, for the end fitting to blow out of the hose it has to be unscrewed fro the hose. The screwed in end fitting in cobination with the swaged on the ferrule ake this type of coupling one of the safest to use.. Cheical Resistance Coposite hoses are ost coonly used in the transfer of cheicals. With the bore of the hose ade fro wide varieties of plastics including polyproylene, Teflon and nylon ost coon cheicals can be accoodated by the any different styles of coposite hose available.
