3 WELCOME WELCOME This summer Passport welcomes children from over 20 different countries and brings together friends from all over the globe. Our inclusive and diverse community allows campers to learn from each other and to appreciate cultural similarities and differences in a fun, friendly and safe camp environment. We offer a variety of enrichment programs tailored to your child, from ages 21 months to 13 years, including Science & Nature, Music & Movement, Sports & Games, Arts & Crafts, Swimming, Field Trips and more! AMERICAN CAMP ASSOCIATION ACCREDITATION ACA Accreditation means that Passport Summer Camp cares enough to undergo a thorough (up to 300 standards) review of its operation from staff qualifications and training to emergency management. American Camp Association collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to assure that current practices at your child s camp reflect the most up-to-date, research-based standards in camp operation. Passport Summer Camp and the ACA form a partnership that promotes growth and fun in an environment committed to safety. 4 GENERAL CAMP JUNE 19-AUGUST 18 (WEEKLY) TINY TOTS: (21 MONTHS-2.9 YEARS OLD) This program is specifically modeled after and run as a Montessori classroom. It is an ideal option for campers entering our CMS Toddler program in the fall, as it introduces and exposes campers to the Montessori philosophy, materials and space, while building relationships amongst students and staff. To provide campers with consistency and time to adjust with separation, campers must commit to a 4 or 8 week duration, which will maximize their summer experience. 4. Our Lower Camp program is specifically designed to accommodate your camper s individual skills and abilities that focus on consistency, safety and independence.

5 GENERAL CAMP JUNE 19-AUGUST 18 (WEEKLY) LOWER CAMP: (3 YEARS OLD) A loving and nurturing environment is the primary consideration for our 3 year olds. This program is tailored to meet campers needs with staff who are experienced and responsive to young children. Our Lower Camp program is specifically designed to accommodate your camper s individual skills and abilities that focus on consistency, safety and independence. MIDDLE CAMP (4-5 YEARS OLD) Our Middle Campers participate in a full day of camp activities in small groups overseen by experienced counselors. Campers rotate through a variety of specialist-led activities, which challenge and enrich their day. This child-centered environment gives our Middle Campers the attention and care they need, allowing them to build close relationships and memories with encouragement and support. All of their camp activities have opportunities for individual decision making, allowing them to meet challenges with confidence and enthusiasm. Program space is limited to ensure the highest level of camper support and encouragement. Campers have a choice of leaving at noon or staying for a full day of camp fun by joining our General Campers for afternoon choice blocks. MONTESSORI MORNING-PRIMARY: (3-5 YEARS OLD) JUNE 19-AUGUST 18 (WEEKLY) Primary Montessori Mornings emphasizes independence, freedom within limits and respect for a child s natural development. Taught by certified Montessori Teachers, this program reinforces the Montessori philosophy over the summer and supports the transition from the Toddler to the Primary classroom. This program is offered full day or half day. Full day campers join Passport General Campers for lunch and afternoon camp activities. Half day campers are picked up at noon. TINYTYKES SOCCER: (3-5 YEARS OLD) JULY 31-AUGUST 4 Come and join the FUN! Interact with the Challenger Sports British coaching staff and become a TinyTyke for life. TinyTykes is an innovative program that introduces 3 5 years old to the basic skills of soccer. TinyTykes will be offered Monday-Friday and each morning session is 90 minutes. Every camper receives a FREE soccer ball, camp t-shirt and player evaluation. MONTESSORI MORNING-ELEMENTARY: (6-9 YEARS OLD) JUNE 19-AUGUST 18 (WEEKLY) This program introduces children to new classroom work, and helps prepare students by developing skills needed for the upcoming school year. Elementary Montessori Morning is taught by certified Montessori Teachers. The curriculum and teacher s role are carefully designed to honor self-paced growth while encouraging social cooperation. This program is offered as a full day program only; campers join Passport General Campers for lunch, afternoon camp activities, and a field trip each Wednesday. Summer 2017 Passport Summer Camp 7.

Campers will learn new British sports and develop skills that go far beyond running, jumping, catching, kicking and throwing. Join us for a fantastic week of multi sports including tag rugby, cricket, soccer, rounders, kickball and more. Every camper receives a FREE soccer ball, camp t-shirt and player evaluation. CIRCUS: (8-10 YEARS OLD) AUGUST 7-11 Spend the week learning from professional circus performer Jeremy Warren. We ll balance feathers on our faces, juggle with scarves and flower sticks, and balance people on our shoulders. We ll spin plates, swing upside down on ropes, and juggle anything we can get our hands on. We ll also learn that messing up is the only way to get better! The week will culminate in a camper-created performance showcasing everyone s talents! SPORTS CLINIC WITH ALEX: (8-13 YEARS OLD) JUNE Let the games begin! Join CMS PE teacher and coach, Alex Tzelnic for the ultimate in sports fun. Campers will have endless game play all day long in Danehy Park, playing gaga ball, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, and experiencing Parkore, as well as friendly competition games with campers from another camp. Be ready to play hard all day while developing new skills and having FUN! MIXED MEDIA ART: (9-13 YEARS OLD) JULY Create beautiful glass tiles, beads, necklaces and bracelets, learn how to make soap and homemade paper under the guidance of the talented artisans from DeNault Studios. 9 SPECIAL PROGRAMS 3D PRINTING AND DESIGN W/ BLOCKSCAD: (9-12 YEARS OLD) JULY OR AUGUST 7-11 In this workshop learn how to design awesome 3D objects using Einstein s Workshop s own BlocksCAD software. You ll be introduced to basic 3D CAD principles and how to design objects to be printed on a 3D printer. Campers will be able to design and print up to three objects. Then, construct an elaborate stage and record sound effects and dialogue for your puppet. Finally, compile all your resources to make a stop animation video. SOAP BOX RACERS: (8-12 YEARS OLD) JUNE 26-JUNE 30 Design and build a clean air, high MPG, nimble, convertible and speedy subcompact soap box racer! Repurpose some premium quality junk to create a customized ride to be fast and look cool when you and your crew take the green flag at the CMS Grand Prix! CATAPULT ENGINEERING: (8-12 YEARS OLD) JULY 10-JULY 14 Design a real working catapult using state-of-the art designs and repurposed materials to be able to send small objects flying through the air! Campers will work in teams to design a trebuchet that will exercise their skills in projectile engineering, structures, problem solving and team work. Summer 2017 Passport Summer Camp 9.

Campers will take off on daily excursions for adventures like: kayaking on the Charles, whale watching, Canobie Lake Park, Sky Venture and Take Flight, just to name a few. Each week has different trips to keep the summer fun! COMMUNITY CAMP: (4-13 YEARS OLD) JUNE AUGUST This program is a special week for campers ages All campers will be grouped together and will travel off campus each day to explore and enjoy daily field trips to local venues like Boston Public Garden, Blue Hills Reservation and Kimball Farms. All children must be toileting independently and not require a nap. Space is very limited for this week. SUMMER TUTORING AT CAMBRIDGE MONTESSORI SCHOOL: (KINDEGARTEN-8TH GRADE) JULY 10 AUGUST 4 Join us this summer for a FUN and INTENSIVE blast of learning! Academic tutoring is available at Cambridge Montessori School in reading and math. Our highly trained learning specialists will provide Orton-Gillingham specialized instruction which is a highly effective language-based teaching approach. Students will be provided intensive academic one-on-one support for 4 weeks this summer. Students will have two 50 minute sessions per week that can be incorporated into the Passport Camp experience. VACATION CAMP VACATION CAMP: (21 MONTHS-13 YEARS OLD) FEBRUARY 21-24, APRIL 18-21 Passport offers a four-day vacation camp during February and April school breaks.

11 VACATION CAMP VACATION CAMP: (21 MONTHS-13 YEARS OLD) FEBRUARY 21-24, APRIL Passport offers a four-day vacation camp during February and April school breaks. Campers ages 21 months to13 years will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities, including arts & crafts, indoor and outdoor sports & games, cooking projects, music, movement and stories. Older campers will have an off campus field trip each day. PASSPORT ACTIVITIES FIELD TRIPS Campers in Lower, Middle and Upper camp will enjoy a weekly field trip to various exciting locations around the Cambridge/Boston area. Day trips offer campers a memorable experience with their friends and counselors! SPECIAL VISITORS During the summer, Passport will host special visitors at camp to entertain, surprise and delight campers with animals, music, dance, magic, and stories. Special visitors are announced well in advance so that families may participate as well. FAMILY FRIDAYS During the summer, Passport Summer Camp will host four Family Fridays where campers, siblings and parents/guardians come together for an afternoon of fun, a chance to meet other Passport Camp families and talk with camp staff. EARLY CARE & EXTENDED DAY Early Care and Extended Day provides care and enrichment for all campers each morning and afternoon. Our goal is to provide campers with a meaningful extension of their camp day in a safe and familiar environment. Early Care is provided from 7:30-9:00am and Extended Day is available from 4:00-5:30pm each day. Drop-ins also available if space permits. Additional fees apply.
