Grant Yeo PH (02) , Blake Street Wagga Wagga NSW 2650 Plus Cryovac Service A woman went up to the bar in a quiet rural pub. She gestured alluringly to the bartender who approached her immediately. She seductively signalled that he should bring his face closer to hers. As he did, she gently caressed his beard. 'Are you the manager?' she asked, softly stroking his face with both hands. 'Actually, no,' he replied. 'Can you get him for me? I need to speak to him,' she said, running her hands beyond his beard and into his hair. 'I'm afraid I can't,' breathed the bartender.. 'Is there anything I can do?' 'Yes. I need you to give him a message,' she continued, running her forefinger across the bartender's lip and slyly popping a couple of her fingers into his mouth and allowing him to suck them gently. 'What should I tell him?' the bartender managed to say. 'Tell him,' she whispered, 'There's no toilet paper, hand soap, or paper towels in the ladies room.' 4

Trip Lotto For 2019 March Glyn White April Greg Ogden May Graham McKenzie June John Kent July S Broomfield August John Di Trapani September John Moore October Nigel McMullen November Allan Pottie Boree Creek Big Boys Toys Run Greg & Judy Ogden, Bill Hase, David Ohlsen, Brenda & John Moore all met at Travers Street for a trip to Boree Creek on Saturday the 16 th March. We stood around chatting as it was pleasant standing on the sun. As the show at Boree Creek did not start until 12 Noon we drove the long way around. We went via the Old Narrandera Road, which was very dry except for the few farms with irrigation. We continued via Euberta to Currawarna, and onto the Reserve. As we drove through the Reserve it was very dry and the Lagoon was empty. Even the river was l long way down. We found a nice spot to stop and have our morning tea. While there a Fellow from Forestry came over wondering if we knew where he could get into the river for some water to put out a fire nearby. He spent a long time chatting to us about his job and the difficulties of people deliberately lighting fires, he was interesting to talk to and obviously not in a hurry! We also had a drive through the Reserve along some short interesting tracks. Afterwards we drove across to the Sturt Highway and called in at Berry Jerry for a toilet stop. We arrived at Boree Creek and settled ourselves in. Brenda and I enjoyed the sun, music and a chat while the boys checked out the old cars, bikes, and machinery that was on display. Not as much as we had expected. We bought ourselves lunch from the BBQ, the Kransky Roll was very nice! Greg missed out on winning the meat raffle by one number!! We headed home via Narranderra, Ganmain and Coolamon. We really enjoyed the day out supporting our local communities, and having plenty of time to chat. Thank you to Bill, David, Brenda and John for your company. 5

A woman was in town on a shopping trip. She began her day finding the most perfect shoes in the first shop and a beautiful dress on sale in the second. In the third everything had just been reduced to a fiver when her mobile phone rang. It was a female doctor notifying her that her husband had just been in a terrible accident and was in critical condition and in the ICU. The woman told the doctor to inform her husband where she was and that she'd be there as soon as possible. As she hung up she realized she was leaving what was shaping up to be her best day ever in the shops. She decided to get in a couple more shops before heading to the hospital. She ended up shopping the rest of the morning, finishing her trip with a cup of coffee and a beautiful coffee slice complimentary from the last shop. She was jubilant. Then she remembered her husband. Feeling guilty, she dashed to the hospital. She saw the doctor in the corridor and asked about her husband's condition. The lady doctor glared at her and shouted, 'You went ahead and finished your shopping trip didn't you! I hope you're proud of yourself! While you were out for the past four hours enjoying yourself in town, your husband has been languishing in the Intensive Care Unit! It's just as well you went ahead and finished, because it will be more than likely the last shopping trip you ever take! For the rest of his life he will require round the clock care. And you'll now be his carer!' The woman was feeling so guilty she broke down and sobbed. The female doctor then chuckled and said, 'I'm just pulling your leg. He's dead. What'd you buy? Medicare Coverage in a Nutshell The phone rings and the lady of the house answers, 'Hello Mrs. Ward, please.' 'Speaking.' 'Mrs. Ward, this is Doctor Jones at the Medical Testing Laboratory. When your doctor sent your husband's biopsy to the lab yesterday, a biopsy from another Mr. Ward arrived as well, and we are now uncertain which one is your husband's. Frankly the results are either bad or terrible.' 'What do you mean?' Mrs. Ward asks nervously. 'Well, one of the specimens tested positive for Alzheimer's, and the other one tested positive for AIDS. We can't tell which is your husband's.' 'That's dreadful! Can't you do the test again?' questioned Mrs. Ward. 'Normally we can, but Medicare will only pay for these expensive tests one time.' 'Well, what am I supposed to do now?' 'The people at Medicare recommend that you drop your husband off somewhere in the middle of town. If he finds his way home, don't sleep with him.' 6

Altina Wildlife Park - Glynn White s Trip Six vehicles met at the Silverlite Service Station ready for adventure. We had Glynn and Steph with two children, John and Brenda Moore with Sue Loveday, Nigel and Sarah McMullen with four children, Jeff and Helen Brill with George and Rita Cameron, Maureen and Les with Mandy Areces and Anne O Connor and Jim Simpson with Marcia and family from Sydney. We headed off just after 7.00am in drizzling rain which, lucky for us, stopped around Galore as the clouds just seemed to stop. We turned left at Gillenbah and continued on the Sturt Highway headed for Waddi. We arrived at the gate of the Altina Wildlife Park which is guarded by two life size giraffe statues around 8.30am. After pulling up in the car park and getting out most people made a dive for extra clothing as the strong, cold wind must have been coming from Antarctica. After an information and safety talk we were given time to walk around the smaller animal section circuit where animals such as Meerkats, Red Pandas, crocodiles, wombats, monkeys, Tassie Devils, Ring Tailed Lemurs, Marmoset, Servals and others are keep. Then we hopped on four horse drawn wagons and taken around a circuit of encloses with animals such as Bison, White Rhinos, lions, camels, Zebras, real giraffes, numerous species of deer plus many more to numerous to mention. As we went around, the keepers were feeding the animals so they were very close for us to have a good view of them. After a lovely trip around, we arrived back at the office where there was a cuppa provided and a shop to peruse. The convoy then headed for Darlington Point for lunch at a nice little park with plenty of toilets over the road and a lovely play area for the kids and some bigger kids. seats and a b.b.q with After lunch it was decided that it was too cold to hang around so we all headed for home. All in all it was a very good day and worth the journey. Thank you to Glynn and Steph for organising this very enjoyable trip. Camping is good for you. Did you see the article in The Leader (April 10) reporting a study conducted by the Caravan Industry Association (Real Richness Report)? While no details were given of the sample size or how the study was conducted, some of the findings reported were: Campers are happier, more satisfied, optimistic and energised than non-campers. 96% of campers believed that camping makes you happier. 95% of campers believe that camping reduces stress. 75% of campers feel close to their children compared with 63% of non-campers. 85% of campers feel close to their spouse compared to 65% of non-campers. 93% of campers believe it brings families closer together. 92% of campers believe it is fun for the whole family. In the year ending June 2018, 381,888 visitors chose to caravan and camp spending 4.87 million nights around Australia. (I assume this does not include free camping and bush camping). So, there you go! JK. 8

Australian Bush Etiquette IN GENERAL 1. Never take an open stubby to a job interview. 2. Always identify people in your paddocks before shooting at them. 3. It's tacky to take an Esky to church. 4. If you have to vacuum the bed, it's time to change the sheets. 5. Even if you're certain you're included in the will, it's rude to take your Ute and trailer to the funeral. DINING OUT 1. When decanting wine from the box, tilt the paper cup and pour slowly so as not to bruise the wine. 2. If drinking directly from the bottle, hold it with only one hand. ENTERTAINING IN YOUR HOME 1. A centrepiece for the table should never be anything prepared by a taxidermist. 2. Don't allow the dog to eat at the table, no matter how good his manners. PERSONAL HYGIENE 1. While ears need to be cleaned regularly, this should be done in private, using one's OWN Ute keys. 2. Even if you live alone, deodorant isn't a waste of money. 3. Extensive use of deodorant can only delay bathing by a few days. 4. Dirt and grease under the fingernails is a no-no, it alters the taste of finger foods and if you are a woman It can draw attention away from your jewellery. DATING 1. Always offer to bait your date's hook especially on the first date. 2. Be assertive. Let her know you're interested: "I've been wanting to go out with you ever since I read that stuff about you on the dunny door two years ago." 3. Establish with her parents what time she's expected back.. Some will say 11:00 PM, others might say "Monday." If the latter is the answer, it's the man's responsibility to get her to school on time. THEATRE/CINEMA ETIQUETTE 1. Crying babies should be taken to the lobby and picked up after the movie ends.. 2. Refrain from yelling abuse at characters on the screen. Tests have proven they can't hear you. WEDDINGS 1. Livestock is a poor choice for a wedding gift. 2. Kissing the bride for more than five seconds may cause a drop in your popularity. (Excessive use of the tongue is also considered out of place.) 3. For the groom, at least, rent a tux. A tracksuit with a cummerbund and a clean football jumper can create a tacky appearance. 4. Though uncomfortable, say "yes" to socks and shoes for the occasion. DRIVING ETIQUETTE 1. Dim your headlights for approaching vehicles, even if your gun's loaded and the roo's in your rifle sight 2. When entering a roundabout, the vehicle with the largest roo bar doesn't always have the right of way Never tow another car using panty hose and duct tape. 4. When sending your wife/girlfriend down the road with a fuel can, it's impolite to ask her to bring back beer too. Many aspects of human sexuality are puzzling. Take celibacy, for example. This can be a choice in life, or a condition imposed by environmental factors. While attending a Marriage Encounter Weekend, Tony and Julie listened to the instructor declare, 'It is essential that husbands and wives know the things that are important to each other.' He addressed the men. 'Can you each name and describe your wife's favourite flower?' Tony leaned over, touched Julie's arm gently and whispered, 'Self-raising, isn't it?' Thus began Tony's life of celibacy. 9

Wiping away her tears, he asked her to make love with him. Of course she agreed and they made passionate love. Six hours later, Barry went to her again, and said, 'Darling, now I only have 18 hours left to live. Maybe we could make love again?' Carol agreed and again they made love. Later, Barry was getting into bed when he realized he now had only eight hours of life left. He touched Carol 's shoulder and said, 'Darling? Please? Just one more time before I die?' She agreed, and then afterwards she rolled over and fell asleep Barry, however, lay there awake and listened to the clock ticking in his head, tossing and turning until he was down to only four more hours. He tapped his wife on the shoulder to wake her up. 'Darling, I only have four hours left! Could we...?' His wife sat up abruptly, turned to him and said, 'Listen, I'm not trying to be funny, Barry, but I have to get up in the morning - you don't... 11

Chainsaw training report. We all gathered at our designated meeting point near Lake Albert public school to sign in and be escorted to Jim Simpsons property where the course was to take place. There were 12 people in total who undertook the training; Jim Simpson, Paul Kingdom, Andrea Sheffield, Scott Sainsbury, Graham McKenzie, Joachim Berger, Fred Velandar, Michael O'Reilly, Kate Wertheim, Alan Pottie, John Kent and myself Chris Parr. Once we arrived we met our trainers Steve and Graham from Getabout training and it wasn t long until we were getting into the formalities of the weekend. A quick introduction from everyone in the group noting any previous experience or training then Steve and Graham took the reins. First up we covered the safety requirements required for safe operation and the difference types available. Australian standard 2727 is the requirement and it was interesting to see if this was on everyone s gear they had brought along. We then moved along to the safety side of the chainsaws themselves and covered the safety features of the saw that we should be aware of and how to use them if required. A quick chat about fuel mixture and the optimal ratio to run and it was time for morning tea. After morning tea we covered forces encountered while operating a saw, maintenance and cleaning, dressing the bar, lubricating and cleaning filters. This part become hands on with everyone cleaning and greasing there saws and took us into lunch. The afternoon saw us fitting bars and chains correctly before a demonstration on how to sharpen chains correctly with the right size files; we then all sharpened our chains ready to get into the fun part of the day. Steve and Graham then gave some demonstrations on cutting techniques and positions to cut in and keep you safe. We split into 2 groups and began some practical work, under their guidance, cutting up a massive log that had recently fallen after some high winds. This took the rest of the afternoon and then it was home time. Day 2, and the very refreshing taste of a barista made coffee saw me late again and cementing my commitment to writing this report. Today was going to be very hands on with lots of practical work to make sure we were competent. Steve and Graham gave another round of great demonstration of some more technical cutting techniques for us to try our hands at; once everyone was well versed and confident to tackle them we spent the morning putting them to practice. We then had morning tea and a bit of a chat before a theory test. As expected, due to many bright sparks within the group, we all passed with flying colours. After the intense test it was time for a little stress release via way of ripping up logs; Graham demonstrated some other less common cutting techniques that could still come in handy, rip cuts etc. used to make planks or post. Some members then incorporated all they had learnt and carved a nice chair for Jim to sit in (since he had forgotten to bring one). Around lunch time we had covered everything we needed to so we had a quick bite and did the maintenance that we had learnt the day prior on our the saws so they will be ready to go next time. Overall the course was very informative and easy to learn from; I think everyone there left with a wealth of information they didn t previously have, I think its great we can all be more confident and most importantly a lot safer while we are out enjoying the bush. Many thanks to Steve and Graham from Getabout training for facilitating the course, John Kent for organising, Jim Simpson for the use of his property and to everyone that attended. Cheers, Chris 15
