1 ARAPAHOE COUNTY UTILITY COORDINATION MEETING MINUTES FOR NOVEMBER 2018 Thursday November 15, 2018 at 11 AM -- PWD Arapahoe Room, 6954 S. Lima St 1. Utility Business Items Water and Sanitation Companies-Present CCVWSD- present, concerns with water main to be moved related to the widening of Iiff Ave Denver Water- present, checking on projects ECCV- present Metro Wastewater Reclamation District - present XCEL Energy Present Telecommunications Companies Q3 Present IREA Present Reliability Project out east, it is in engineering phase, permits soon SEMSWA Present: Please be sure to use Stormwater BMPs per detail, and then remove them when project is finished. SEMSWA will be moving to Tier I in January CDOT not present We appreciate all the other companies represented at the meeting: Zayo, Black & Veatch 2. Projects: Name Engineer A. Quincy Ave/Gun Club Rd Intersection Jon Williams a. This is Federally funded, CDOT is providing the Federal oversight for the project, one utility that is being moved is a large water line for ECCV, Ad set is out for review, intention is to bid project by end of year or January. Intersection construction duration is estimated to be one year. There will be a temporary traffic signal installed at Quincy and NB on and off ramp of E470. This signal will need to be moved during construction of Quincy and Gun Club. The signal will ultimately be owned by E470, and maintained by Aurora. B. Iliff Avenue Corridor Parker Rd to Quebec Art Negretti 1
2 a. FOR meeting set for week of December 3, but may change to the 10th, FOR plans should come in the next week or two, construction to begin at this time next year. Will require overhead to overhead relocates. Century Link has fiber in conduit under and attached to the Cherry Creek Bridge that will be raised concurrent with project. The bridge over the Highline canal and the bridge over Cherry Creek will be widened. Construction will start in one year. Finishing up design and getting ready to do ROW which will take roughly 9 months. CDOT has not yet authorized the County to proceed with ROW. b. There is also a pedestrian bridge project over Cherry Creek; which is a pre-project to Iliff, and it involves the trail at Cherry Creek. There will be a trail bridge south of Iliff so that bikes and pedestrians will not have to go on Iliff to cross over. This is being advertised now. This should go to construction mid to late January to be done by mid-may before the Army Corps of Engineers flushes Cherry Creek. The bridge over Cherry Creek will be widened slightly. Water line shows on north side. There will be no new caissons in creek. Art ed on and Lisa of CCVSWD to discuss. C. Broncos Pkwy & S. Fairplay Traffic Signal James Beall a. On hold at the moment, has been designed, but the coordination of the utilities is tied to development. D. North Out Rd and County Line Road James Beall a. Essentially this is done E. Quebec Way North Improvements Project James Beall a. Putting in sidewalk on Quebec Way north. Jon of CCVWSD: we will need to look at Quebec Way improvements north. F Concrete Replacement Road and Bridge - David Beard a. Project updates Concrete being assessed for removal and replacement at this time. No utility conflicts G Pavement Maintenance Plan Road and Bridge - David Beard a. Project updates The following streets are planned for an overlay treatment in Any underground utility work within the pavement limits needs to be completed prior to the overlay. 2 year moratorium on street cuts after overlay treatment): There will be a two year moratorium on these! We will probably start in Inverness. The Tier 2 transition will be a two year grace period. This January Tier II will start receiving tickets from CO 811 at no charge. Other than that, all communications will be $1.42. For Tier I members, there will be new engineering ticket information and software to use, and CO811 hopes to have the software working by January 1 st.
