1 MEDIA RELEASE 7 July 201 MEDIA RELEASE 31 July 2017 SOUTH AUSTRALIAN 2017 AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE ANNOUNCED Hospitality businesses across South Australia were recognised for their successes in the Savour Australia TM Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS Awards for Excellence held on Monday evening at the Adelaide Convention Centre. The Awards for Excellence program formally recognises hospitality operators across a broad range of categories who consistently provide exceptional service and demonstrate culinary excellence in their respective fields. The winners across this year s major categories included: The Artisan Café, Blackwood Café of the Year; Epicure Adelaide Town Hall, Adelaide Caterer of the Year; Botanic Gardens Restaurant, Adelaide Restaurant of the Year; Contemporary Australian 2017 Hall of Fame Award; Nicci Bugeja & Maria Rosella Lucia s Pizza & Spaghetti Bar Lifetime Achiever Award; Coffee Amigo, Salisbury Consumer Vote Award; Chianti Italian Formal 2017 Hall of Fame Award. In addition to receiving major awards, Blackwood s Artisan Café also received the award for Café Dining Metro South West. The Botanic Gardens Restaurant also won the award for Contemporary Australian Restaurant Formal - City. Restaurant & Catering Australia CEO Juliana Payne congratulated each of the finalists and winners of the Awards. On behalf of the Association, it is my great pleasure to congratulate the individual winners of the 2017 Awards for Excellence in South Australia. Tonight s Awards provide well-deserved recognition to those individuals who have made an indelible mark on South Australia s culinary scene and have well and truly put the State on the map as far as culinary excellence is concerned.

In addition to each of the finalists for 2017, I d also to thank everyone behind the scenes whose hard work goes into making this Awards night possible, Ms Payne said.
