26 Engage local tourism industry to support park management The first initiative started on May 9th, 2017 with whatsapp group which channelled various report from the dive operators who frequently visits the waters to the KNP authority. With its ease of use, the whatsapp group accelerating response of the KNP and importantly increase KNP's eyes on the areas. The KNP response also become more efficient, from releasing warning letter to recreational boat who anchored in reefs, sending the nearest rangers to clean up beach, sending rangers to confiscate illegal fishing gears. In addition, the dive operators can easily share good practices, suggestion of educational tools, maps, photos, animal sightseeing with the KNP. In October 2017, both KNP and tourism operators agree to work under Memorandum of Agreement (Mou) What we do Facilitated KNP and tourism operators to join monitoring and patrolling Set up tourism code of conduct together Shark and ray volunteer monitoring Reef Health Monitoring
