Driven by infrared sensors, EFVS detects minute variations in temperature and translates the data into a clear picture of the airport environment, including runway lights, markings and obstacles. And the pilot has this enhanced, real world image available headsup looking out the windshield an invaluable advantage. Each pilot has a trackball that controls an on-screen cursor. Active Flight Plan EASy uses a designate and click system for altering the route directly on the moving map display. Crews see the alteration of the route before accepting the change, reducing the likelihood of errors. 19 The EASy (Enhanced Avionics System) Flight Deck is a working environment that brings the ease-of-use features of the desktop computer to the flight deck of the business jet. It allows crews to build or amend their flight plans, using a moving map display, as easily as using a point-and-click mouse.
