3 page 3 KAMBAKU SAFARI LODGE Cosy, first-rate lodge on the edge of the Kambaku Wildlife Reserve, with 10 rooms, each lovingly adorned in unique style (double, family and luxury rooms). Our hospitality includes good food, a small wine collection and highly qualified staff. Garden with swimming-pool and sunbeds, plenty of leisure time activities, services (see right) and special offers for children (see page 4). In addition there is an outside play area, bikes and toys. Toddlers from 0-2 years share their parents room free of charge. Children from 6 to 12 years may enjoy adventurous wildlife activities such as special special guided rides or nature walks. Kids Pony Week Kids Wildlife Programme 5 DAY S P RO G R A M M E I 490 per child For the young horse lovers, we have just the touch: Through playful and fun instruction on how to co-exist with horses, the children are taught how to groom, saddle and feed them. A highlight for the newbies is being trained on the lunge in the ring, or, for the more advanced riders, their free riding. The brief rides into the savannah, led by the guides, are always a winner. 5 DAY S P RO G R A M M E I 350 per child On exploration walks into the bush savannah, children are shown how to interpret animal tracks, how to calculate south, east, north and west by the stars and how to read a GPS. Together they practise shooting with a bow and arrow. While joining the daily rounds of the game rangers, they observe their work and the various game species. Jeep rides through the Reserve provide unforgettable moments. Fun and diversion can be found in games such as beach volleyball, table tennis or a treasure hunt.

Bush walks Hike through the game farm, also off the beaten track, during which your guide shares solid facts about the fauna and flora. Game stalking Accompany the professional hunters of the wildlife teams on the job for some 3,5 hours (no more than two people). Game watching Watch the animal behaviour as they visit a waterhole or feed trough. Alone or with guide. Bike tour Take a private bike excursion along the trails. The mountain bikes come in various sizes and are free. Bush training Covering theory and practice, these sessions provide comprehensive facts on animals, indigenous plants and their traditional healing properties, tracks quizzes and their answers, managing wildlife and understanding Namibian cultures. Choose your training from certain themes or opt for the intensive week course. Bush Camp Adventure Nature drive (or safari ride when booked as horseriding activity) to Kambaku s small and simple bush campsite where you enjoy one overnight stay with your guide in the bush. The two-person tents are erected on stilts and together with your guide, you ll feel secure. You experience meals in the open: a barbeque (braai) and a bush breakfast at dawn. A guided nature walk completes the outback adventure before your shuttle takes you back to the lodge (duration from day 1@15:00 until day 2@11:00). 6 page 6 JEEP & TREKKING ARRANGEMENTS For guests who stay one week or longer at Kambaku, we offer a choice of various programmes, each covering five days. Accommodation at the Lodge needs to be booked in addition. At the Safari Camp, we offer a specialised wildlife programme (and safari rides for the horse lovers). NOTE Our arrangements cover activities as described with a guide in the Kambaku Wildlife Reserve at five days, but require at least 6 overnights in the lodge (one day for arrival/departure). For a relaxing stay we recommend a seven-days-stay at Kambaku enjoying our booking special: stay seven nights, pay for only six (see page 3)! Please note that you need to add the prices for accommodation. Prices per guest older than 16 years. Children under 17 years receive a 50% reduction on the price. Bush Training For seven consecutive days you will be taught the theory and practice of: Birds of the bush savannah Mammals of the bush savannah Flora of the bush savannah Tracks and tracking Ecology, Conservation & Research at Kambaku TAKE NOTE: Theoretical classes are held at the Kambaku Bush College, the seat of the government-accredited Kambaku Hospitality College. Practical tuition takes place in the Kambaku Wildlife Reserve. This week prepares prospective students to become professional rangers or field guides. Price per guest: 590 Kambaku s Bush Training arrangement is a seven-days wildlife course that provides basic knowledge of a professional field guide job. There are 20 well-trained horses of every size awaiting riders (beginners and advanced) for safari rides and training in the arena. Experienced riding guides select routes and speed conforming to the riding abilities of the group. We guarantee sound husbandry and professional preparation of horses and riders. Safety helmets are mandatory! Maximum size of riding group is six pax. Riding lessons with FN authorised instructors.
