1 Sitka June 19 Luxury Lifestyle Vacation Charter Ocean Raft Adventure SIT C Summary of Highlights: This Ocean rafting adventure, complete with possible wildlife sightings and sea cave exploration, is the perfect way to make your visit to Sitka exciting and unforgettable. Price: $159 Your adventure begins at the pier, where you will meet your guide and be transferred to a nearby outfitting station. You will be equipped with state-of-the-art gear including an exposure suit, a balaclava, safety glasses and gloves. Suited up, take to your specially designed 25-foot ridged hull inflatable raft. The rafts straddle seats provide comfortable and secure seating for your rafting adventure, where you may travel up to 50 mph in the open sea. Taking to the ocean, watch for whales, sea otters and seabirds as you make your way to the ravaged volcanic coastline of Kruzof Island. This area makes for excellent photographic opportunities and is home to a variety of wildlife. Cruising by the Island, you may spot brown bears and Sitka black tail deer, from the raft. Continuing on you will approach the towering cliffs of St. Lazaria Island, a National Wildlife Refuge, where sea birds nest. Weather dependent, your raft will then cruise into volcanic sea caves. Once inside, your captain may shut down your raft s engine, so you can listen to the surf crashing off volcanic cliffs and the song of nesting seabirds. All too soon, your raft will set course for shore where you will leave your equipment, enjoy a light refreshment, and return to your Crystal ship. Guests must be a minimum of nine years old and be able to walk and swim unassisted to participate. Guests must weigh under 350lbs. and be able to fit into a 3XL floatation suit. This excursion is not recommended for guests with physical limitations as they will be required to embark and disembark vessels that sit low in the water. All participants must sign a waiver of liability. It is recommended that guests dress in warm, layered, waterproof clothing, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, as well as wear flat, sturdy, comfortable closed-toe shoes. Guests 1

2 should also bring raingear in case of inclement weather. Towels will be available at your Crystal ship s gangway prior to disembarkation for your excursion. Sea Otter & Wildlife Quest SIT I Summary of Highlights: Be on the lookout for sea otters, whales and more on this exciting jet boat excursion. Availability: Limited Departure Time (Subject to Change): afternoon Approximate Duration: 3 hours Price: $129 Meeting your wildlife sightseeing vessel at the pier, embark on your approximate 3-hour cruise. As you view and photograph sea otters, learn about their remarkable recovery following near extinction at the hands of Russian fur traders in the early 1800s. Keep watch for humpback and minke whales, porpoises, harbor seals, sea lions, Sitka black-tailed deer, bald eagles and a variety of marine birds. Throughout the cruise, an experienced naturalist will explain the workings of this remarkable ecosystem. Your waterjet-powered catamaran is designed to navigate narrow passages for spectacular wildlife viewing at close range. Enjoy coffee, hot chocolate, tea, fresh pastries and a smoked 2

Wildlife is plentiful in Sitka Sound, and your captain has a profound knowledge of the preferred habitats and movement of whales, sea otters, sea lions, porpoise, seals, brown bears and bald eagles. He also knows the best places to explore and photograph awe-inspiring volcanic formations, glacier-carved peaks, secluded passages and other natural wonders. Weather permitting, you may wish to circumnavigate the rugged coast of St. Lazaria National Wildlife Refuge - breeding grounds for thousands of seabirds, including puffins, auklets, and murres. An expert naturalist will accompany you if you opt to go ashore on remote islands to beachcomb, explore tide pools, or just savor the peacefulness of an untouched place. The vessel is a 33-foot, expedition-style catamaran with a spacious, heated cabin, equipped with 3

Alaska ATV SIT P Summary of Highlights: Take the wheel on this guided 4x4 adventure though the remote Tonga s National Forest. Age Requirement: 9 & Above Availability: Extremely Limited Departure Time (Subject to Change): afternoon Approximate Duration: 3½ hours Price: $279 Your excursion begins with a brief van transfer to a dock where you will board a boat and begin a thrilling 30-minute ride through the scenic islands and channels of Sitka Sound. Along the way, the captain will point out marine life such as whales, seals, sea otters, and sea birds. Soon you will arrive at Kruzof Island landing, where you will be met by your guide. After gearing up, board a two-person Yamaha RHINO 4x4 off-road vehicle. Following a brief safety orientation and vehicle operation instructions, begin an exhilarating ride through Southeast Alaska's lush temperate rainforest. Your first stop will be at Iris Meadows estuary, a meadow full of beautiful vegetation and wild flowers. You may also spot Alaskan Brown Bears and Sitka Black Tail Deer, both common to the area. Here guests will also have the option to switch positions so other guests can drive the ATVs. Juneau June 21 Juneau Highlights JNU A Summary of Highlights: We invite you to explore historic Juneau, marvel at the mighty Mendenhall Glacier whose massive blue ice cliffs loom 200 feet into the sky, and enjoy a visit to Glacier Gardens, complete with tea service. On arrival at the impressive glacier, take some time to gaze at its rugged crevasses and distinctive blue coloring. Mendenhall Glacier is one and a half miles wide, hundreds of feet thick and fed by a 1,500-square-mile ice field. This meandering river of compressed ice ranks as the largest glacier accessible by road. To help you get the most of your visit, the Visitors Center features a selection of exhibits and interactive displays and is the perfect vantage point to photograph the world-famous glacier. Price: $899 After a 15-minute transfer by motor coach to the heliport, receive a brief orientation with your pilot to determine your custom flightseeing experience. Mendenhall Glacier by Helicopter & Guided Walk JNU D Summary of Highlights: A truly memorable excursion, this outing flies you to and over the Mendenhall Glacier. Once you land on the glacier, you will thrill to a guided walk on the icy surface. Departure Time (Subject to Change): Morning and afternoon Approximate Duration: 2-2½ hours (Flight time is approximately 30 minutes; time on glacier is approximately 25 minutes.) Price: $359 After transferring and checking-in at the heliport, view a safety video and be outfitted with glacier boots. Next, board a modern, turbine-powered helicopter for your flightseeing adventure. Moments after liftoff, you will enjoy breathtaking vistas as you make your way to the awe-inspiring Mendenhall Glacier. Set amid thriving rain forests, alpine ridges and rugged mountains, the glacier s setting is as dramatic as the glacier itself. Your pilot will guide the aircraft over the glacier, giving you an eagle s-eye perspective of its ice spires, blue-tinted crevasses and meltwater pools. Descending toward the landing site, you may fly past the Mendenhall Towers, amazing rock sentinels that rise nearly 7,000 feet into the air. 10 This excursion is not wheelchair accessible and is not recommended for guests with physical limitations, as they will be required to embark and disembark the aircraft without assistance and walk on the glacier for a minimum of 30 yards. Children between the ages of 13 and 17 traveling without a parent or guardian must provide a written consent form, available at the helibase and on board from the Shore Excursion office. All children 12 years old and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children under the age of 24 months may be seated on an adult s lap and ride without charge; the child s weight will be added to the parent s weight. Children two years old and older are required by the FAA to have their own seat, which will be charged accordingly. Excursion duration, flight routes and time spent on the glacier may vary due to weather, road and glacier conditions. It is recommended that guests dress in warm, layered clothing, a hat, gloves, and sunscreen, as well as wear sturdy, closed-toe walking shoes. Sunglasses are recommended as strong glares may be expected during your flight and while on the glacier. Overboots will be provided. Due to heightened security, no bags, including camera bags, purses and fanny packs, are permitted aboard the aircraft. Wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes and umbrellas also are not allowed on the flight. Depending on glacier conditions, the glacier surface may be uneven and slippery. Guests will not be able to remain in the helicopter on the glacier, as the helicopters will drop guests off and return later for the return flight. Seating in the helicopter is determined by weight and balance and is at the sole discretion of the tour operator. Due to weight limitations, guests weighing more than 250 lbs., including all clothing and camera, will be charged for 1½ seats. Advance notice is required. Alaska Sled Dog Discovery & Musher s Camp JNU E Summary of Highlights: Allow a team of Alaskan Huskies to provide you with an exhilarating, one-mile ride around a summer sled track, located deep within the verdant Alaskan forest. Another highlight is a visit to a suspension bridge overlooking the Fish Creek River. Departure Time (Subject to Change): Morning & Afternoon Approximate Duration: 2-2½ hours Price: $149 An air-conditioned shuttle will transport you to the Musher s Camp, located approximately 30 minutes from the pier. The dogs will be as excited to see you as you are to see them, as they look forward to meeting you and offering you a ride on a wheeled sled. At the conclusion of your memorable sledding experience, you will get a chance to meet and take pictures with your professional team of Alaskan Huskies. You will also learn about your dog team and hear directly from one of the camp staff and a helper dog about the sport of mushing. 10

11 Taking a quick break from the excitement of the Musher s Camp, venture to the nearby suspension bridge, where you will have the opportunity to cross over the Fish Creek River and snap some photos from the viewing platform, positioned to provide inspiring views of the temperate rainforest and possibly local wildlife. Your Musher s Camp experience resumes as you enjoy time with the adorable puppies. Be sure to have your camera ready to take pictures of and with the cute pups, some of whom may just become future racing champions. Bidding farewell to your newfound puppy friends, rejoin the shuttle for the return journey to Juneau. As this excursion involves walking approximately 150 yards over uneven terrain, gravel pathways and wooden boardwalks, it is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties. Kindly be advised that during this excursion, the Alaskan Sled Dog ride will be on a wheeled sled and the trail ridden will be a well-maintained dirt road, not on an ice trail, or with snow. Taku Lodge Feast & Five Glacier Seaplane Discovery JNU F Summary of Highlights: You are in for an experience of a lifetime with this excursion, featuring glacier flightseeing over Juneau Ice Field, a visit to the remote Taku Glacier Lodge and a delicious meal of fresh Alaskan salmon. 12 Depending on your ship s docking location, you will make your way to the downtown floatplane dock by van, motor coach or foot. Once aboard the floatplane, prepare for a thrilling 35- minute flight over five breathtaking glaciers of the famed Juneau Ice Field, viewing deep blue crevasses, snow-capped peaks, cascading waterfalls and lush forests along the way. All guests aboard the plane will have a window seat and a headset for the hearing of the narration, making a memorable flight for all. After about 35 minutes, land on the Taku River at the Historic Taku Lodge. Built in 1923, the distinctly Alaskan lodge is situated across the river from the Taku Glacier in the heart of the Tongass National Forest. Your two-hour visit begins with a buffet-style feast of wild Alaskan salmon grilled over an open Alderwood fire (a chicken alternative will be available), along with baked beans, coleslaw and other treats. Keep an eye out for bears, as they often visit the barbecue pit area in search of leftovers. Refreshed by lunch, you might wish to explore the trails surrounding the lodge with a guided interpretive nature walk. Your discovery of the lodge and its environs drawing to a close, re-board your floatplane for the return flight to Juneau, with more narration and views to be enjoyed en route. Rainforest Canopy & Zipline Expedition JNU G Summary of Highlights: Join today s adventure and not only will you glide above the treetops on over 6,000 feet of dual ziplines, but you will also thrill to a channel crossing aboard a high-speed jet boat and travel to the ziplining base by off-road vehicle. Here, relax over a gourmet meal of your own freshly caught fish, served atop a saffron-infused, bouillabaisse-inspired stew (no shellfish). Savor sourdough rolls with garlic-aioli spread, a signature rhubarb and blueberry bread pudding, and steaming mugs of coffee or hot chocolate.
