CR 714 / Martin Highway from west of Mapp Road to west of the Florida s Turnpike Entrance Description: This 1.879 mile widening project consists of adding one lane in each direction and constructing a raised median with access points throughout the corridor. of existing lanes; drainage improvements, including building two retention ponds; sound wall installation at Sunset Trace; replacing the box culvert at Danforth Creek; and signage, signalization, landscape and lighting improvements. Cost/Completion: $15.7 million. Completion is expected in summer 2016. Intermittent lane shifts may occur throughout the corridor Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for paving. Two way traffic will be maintained at all times. Lanes in either direction of CR 714 at the intersection of Martin Downs Boulevard and High Meadow Avenue will be closed intermittently Sunday through Friday between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Two way traffic will be maintained at all times. Construction of the median along CR 714 from Berry Avenue to just west of Mapp Road is underway. Motorists will no longer be able to freely turn through the median along the 1.9 mile construction corridor as all permanent median access modifications will be in place. In addition to the signalized intersections, median openings will be at Armellini Avenue, Hidden Oaks Middle School western entrance, Isleworth Circle, Newberry Court and mid block near GCY Surveyors & Mappers. The median opening at the Publix Plaza western entrance is temporarily closed through mid March 2016 to construct the median. ** See attached flyer 2. State Road 710 / Beeline Highway from east of the Florida East Coast Railway Crossing to east of SW Fox Brown Road Description: This 10 mile design/build project consists of widening the existing two lane roadway to add two 1.5 mile passing lane segments, one in each direction. Other improvements include milling and resurfacing of the existing lanes and construction of new shoulders, guardrail installation, and drainage modifications. Cost/Completion: $6.92 million. Completion in spring 2016. Intermittent lane closures of SR 710 may occur between 7 a.m. Monday and 8 p.m. Saturday for widening. A flag crew will maintain two way traffic. A 2 mile section of SR 710 east of the FEC Railway crossing is shifted south for widening work. This traffic shift is expected to continue through early 2016. A 2 mile section of SR 710 west of SW Fox Brown Road is shifted south for widening work. This traffic shift is expected to continue through early 2016. 3. I 95 Lighting Installation between Bridge Road and High Meadows Avenue Description: This 5.382 mile project includes installation of a new lighting system along both the northbound & southbound lanes of I 95 from north of CR 708 to south of High Meadows Avenue, and installation of eight pedestal mounted bridge poles on the bridge over the St. Lucie River. Cost/Completion: $2.8 million. Completion in summer 2016. All lanes are open through Friday, March 4. 4. I 95 Southbound Rest Area Improvements Project in Martin County Description: Improvements consist of widening the concrete pavement of the truck parking lot; shoulder replacement from the diverge and merge points of the car and truck parking ramps to the truck parking lot; and highway lighting along with signing & pavement markings at the I 95 Southbound Rest Area in Martin County. Cost/Completion: $1.38 million. Completion is expected in early 2016. State Road 714 (Exit 110), may be closed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. for asphalt repairs. 5. I 95 Interchange at Kanner Highway (State Road 76 / Exit 101) Description: This 0.745 mile project includes widening Kanner Highway (SR 76) at the I 95 interchange, reconstructing the I 95 entrance and exit ramps, drainage, milling and resurfacing, signing & pavement markings, and signalization. One westbound lane of Kanner Highway will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for widening. 6. Kanner Highway / State Road 76 from Salerno Road to Cove Road in Stuart One lane in each direction of Kanner Highway between Gaines Avenue and Salerno Road will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. entryway construction. The north sidewalk of Kanner Highway between Salerno Road and Cove Road is closed for construction of a new business entrance through spring 2016. Pedestrians should use the south sidewalk by crossing at Salerno Road or Cove Road. 7. US 1 at Sugar Pines Way in Hobe Sound One lane in each direction of US 1 will be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to construct a left turn lane into Sugar Pine Way. 8. US 1 at Buck Hendry Way in Stuart One northbound lane of US 1 may be closed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for sidewalk construction and striping. 9. Jensen Beach Boulevard from NW Maria Avenue to US 1 in Jensen Beach One eastbound lane of Jensen Beach Boulevard will be closed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for sidewalk work. 10. Old Roosevelt Bridge in Stuart One lane in either direction on the bridge will be closed Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for deck work. A flag crew will maintain two way traffic. 11. US 1 at the Roosevelt Bridge in Stuart One lane in either direction of US 1 at the bridge will be closed Monday between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. for bike lane repairs. 12. Kanner Highway at Cabana Point in Stuart One westbound lane of Kanner Highway will be closed Thursday night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for utility work. 13. The westbound lane of the bridge will be shifted to the inside Monday and Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for survey work. 14. Kanner Highway at the CSX Railroad Crossing west of State Road 710 Kanner Highway will be completely closed at the CSX railroad crossing from 6 p.m. Monday to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Motorists should detour via State Road 710 / Warfield Boulevard, 126 th Boulevard and US 441 to Kanner Highway. ST. LUCIE COUNTY 15. State Road A1A Bridge Rehabilitation over the FPL Discharge Canal in Jensen Beach Description: This 0.085 mile long project includes replacing the existing concrete bridge deck and approach slabs, milling and resurfacing the roadway at the approach slabs, concrete spall repairs of the piles and pile caps, and installing a corrosion protection system to the piles and pile caps. Cost/Completion: $1.8 million. Completion in fall 2015. The speed limit has been reduced from 45 mph to 35 mph at the bridge until early 2016. All lanes are open through Friday, March 4. 16. State Road 70 / Okeechobee Road and Jenkins Road Intersection in Fort Pierce Description: This.549 mile project in the City of Fort Pierce is expected to begin July 15. Work on this project includes widening the SR 70 and Jenkins Road intersection to provide additional through lanes and turning lanes, box culvert extension and installation work, drainage improvements, and lighting and signalization upgrades. Cost/Completion: $5.46 million. Completion is expected in spring 2017. One lane in either direction of Okeechobee Road between I 95 and Kerr Street may be closed intermittently Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. and Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. One lane in either direction of Jenkins Road to the north and south of the Okeechobee Road intersection may be closed intermittently Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. and Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. A flag crew will maintain two way traffic. Traffic in both directions of Jenkins Road north of Okeechobee Road will be shifted west from 8 a.m. Sunday until 4 p.m. Monday for utility work. Two way traffic will be maintained. The sidewalk on the south side of Okeechobee Road from Jenkins Road east to Roylat Street is closed through early 2016. Pedestrians may cross at the signalized intersections at Jenkins Road and McNeil Road. The sidewalk on the north side of Okeechobee Road from Jenkins Road west to the RaceTrac / Home Depot driveway entrance is closed through early 2016. Pedestrians may cross at the signalized intersections at Jenkins Road and Peters Road / Crossroads Parkway. 17. I 95 Northbound & Southbound Rest Areas in St. Lucie County Description: Improvements include repairs to the existing buildings and upgrading the power distribution at the I 95 northbound & southbound rest areas in St. Lucie County. The rest areas are located approximately two miles north of Orange Avenue (State Road 68 / Exit 131). Cost/Completion: $733,903. US 1 at Walton Road in Port St. Lucie One northbound lane of US 1 will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for utility work. 19. US 1 from Spanish Lakes Road to Prima Vista Boulevard in Port St. Lucie One northbound lane of US 1 will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for utility work. 20. State Road A1A at the Florida Power and Light Plant in Jensen Beach One southbound lane of A1A may be closed intermittently Sunday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. and Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for pipe work. 21. Becker Road at I 95 Interchange in Port St. Lucie One lane in either direction of Becker Road at the I 95 interchange may be closed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for striping and sign installation. 22. Gatlin Boulevard at I 95 Interchange in Port St. Lucie One lane in either direction of Gatlin Boulevard at the I 95 interchange may be closed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for striping and sign installation. 23. St. Lucie West Boulevard at I 95 Interchange in Port St. Lucie One lane in either direction of St. Lucie West Boulevard at the I 95 interchange may be closed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for striping and sign installation. 24. Midway Road at I 95 Interchange in Fort Pierce One lane in either direction of Midway Road at the I 95 interchange may be closed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for striping and sign installation. 25. Okeechobee Road at I 95 Interchange in Fort Pierce One lane in either direction of Okeechobee Road at the I 95 interchange may be closed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for striping and sign installation. INDIAN RIVER COUNTY 26. Improvements in this 12.5 mile long project include: adding one lane on I 95 in each direction; milling and resurfacing the existing lanes; signalization and lighting improvements; Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) improvements, including closed circuit television cameras, Dynamic Message Signs and vehicle detectors; removal/replacement of the existing bridges over CR 512 (Fellsmere Road); construction of a noise barrier wall adjacent to the Encore Sunshine Travel RV Resort; and reconstruction of the interchange at CR 512, including the ramps and turn lanes. Completion in late 2016. Motorists should be alert for slow moving construction vehicles entering and exiting the travel lanes. The speed limit has been reduced to 60 mph in the work zone. One lane in either direction of I 95 will be closed intermittently Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. for construction. Southbound traffic on I 95 is shifted east to temporary lanes along the northbound side of I 95 in the following locations: o From north of Mile Marker 151 to south of Mile Marker 149 o From Mile Marker 152 to Mile Marker 153 o From Mile Marker 153.5 to Mile Marker 154.5 Southbound traffic from the Indian River / Brevard County line to north of County Road 512 has shifted from the temporary configuration on the northbound side of I 95 back to the southbound lanes of the highway. 27. U.S. 1 Lateral Ditch Restoration from south of 12 th Street SE in Vero Beach to south of Davis Street in Sebastian Description: Eleven outfall ditches will be improved along U.S. 1 over the span of 18.82 miles. Improvements include clearing obstructions to flow, restoring ditch cross section areas, providing new culvert crossings, and stabilizing & placing sod on side slopes. Cost/Completion: $1.44 million. Completion in summer 2016. All lanes are open through Friday, March 4. No traffic impacts are expected on this project. 28. State Road 60 west of 58 th Avenue in Vero Beach The eastbound right turn lane of SR 60 just west of 58 th Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The outside eastbound lane of SR 60 just west of 58 th Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. 29. County Road 512 from the I 95 Interchange to 125 th Street in Fellsmere One lane in either direction of CR 512 will be closed Saturday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. for paving.
