The QD The newsletter for the barony of Caer Mear April 2010 Volume 32, Issue 8
A few words from Their Excellencies Greetings from Bryce and Melisent, Ninth Baron and Sixth Baroness, Caer Mear! Our sincere thanks to everyone involved in making The Siege of the Black Tower a highlight of Our baronial tenure. While there, We conducted the following pieces of court business: Lady Ysabella Cacemoine - Baron s Award of Excellence Kat Ferneley La Bris de Mer Baron Hamish MacLeod - La Bris de Mer Lord Baavgai Monh - Merlon of Caer Mear Matthew of Yarnvid Order of the Pharos Aine ruadh inghean Neill Order of the Pharos As We dictate this, Our villains, marshals, and armourers are frantically preparing Our expeditionary force to invade the Kingdom of Æthelmearc for Blackstone Raids in just a few days. We expect to return covered in glory and full of exciting tales of bravery. Please see Our baronial progress for Our comings and goings over the next month as well. Sapphire Joust looms large in the future and plans are fully underway by Our autocrat and Seneschal, Baron William. Please offer him your assistance with this monumental task. We will be hosting a relaxed all day De-Vestiture Party at Our household encampment at Sapphire. Please stop by and say hello! We remind you all again that Our greatest pleasure is bestowing awards on the worthy. Please consider making award recommendations to Us at every opportunity. We are very happy to take recommendations face to face, by phone, mail, or e-mail. While We only anticipate a brief morning court at Sapphire Joust, We would be most pleased to be able to turn over a list of recommendations to our successors for their use at Sapphire Joust and Summer Celebration. We remain in your joyful service, Bryce, Baron Melisent, Baroness

Special Notices Baronial Polling The Baronial polling letters were dropped off at the post office to be mailed out on March 26 th, 2010. Due to delays in sending out the polling letters, Their Highnesses have requested that they now be posted marked back to them by April 23. The polling letter you receive will still say March 29th but please disregard that. If you are a paid member living in Caer Mear and have not received a polling, or if you have any other questions, please contact Baron William. Pennsic Caer Mear Encampment At the last Baronial business meeting, it was determined that there was enough interest (about 20 people) in having a Caer Mear camp at Pennsic this year. Therefore, we will need a Camp Steward, that is, a person in charge of putting the camp together. If anyone is interested, has questions or would like to volunteer, please contact Baron William.
