Important Arrival Information Airport + Shuttle
1. Arrival Guidelines While on the plane, you will receive an immigration form from the flight attendant. You ll need flight number (Ex: UA 1500) and your passport number. Your foreseen address is: Guatemala City (Hotel Westin Camino Real, Zona 10); and the Purpose of the Trip is: Tourism. The other general information is self-explanatory. Make sure you have this done before leaving the airplane.
When you get off the plane, simply follow the signs that say Immigration or Migración. It s a short walk. There are bathrooms along the way. Our advice is to use one if you need one (there s also a bathroom at baggage claim). First your passport is checked. Have it open to the picture page. Once stamped, make sure you can see the date on it! You may have to stand in line for a bit and a smile to the attendant is always welcome.
Proceed around the corner to the baggage claim. Make sure you have your baggage ticket (the one with the number and scan code). There are agents who will check that the luggage is yours. Should your baggage not arrive, (it can happen-argh!) tell an attendant immediately but do not try to resolve the issue yourself. Your tour leader can assist you afterwards with lost luggage. Most baggage is taken through a scanner. Don t worry, it s usually not a big deal. As you leave, you will turn in the form you completed on the plane. Proceed outside to find your shuttle bus (refer to #2 Shuttle information).
2. Shuttle Information How to get from La Aurora International Airport to Westin Camino Real? Westin Camino Real operates shuttles from the airport to the hotel regularly. A tour leader will try to be at the airport to greet you and guide you to the shuttle bus. However, we may not be able to be at airport all day. Therefore, here are some important guidelines in case you must catch the shuttle on your own: Westin Camino Real Hotel Shuttle Service (General Details) Fee: Complimentary Hours of operation: Runs every 45 minutes (4:00 AM - 10:00 PM - Daily) Travel Distance: Approximately 4.83 km/3.0 miles Travel Time: 15 minutes Contact: (+502) 2333-3000 Where: The hotel shuttle is available outside the baggage claim area. *refer to notes below. Comments: If you need the service after 10pm, a reservation must be made. Please notify your tour leader so we can reserve the shuttle service for you.
How to locate the shuttle: There is only one exit for all incoming flights. Once you reach the outer section of the airport, you will find an enclosed area where you will encounter a crowd of people waiting to meet their family, friends, or clients. On your left-hand side, you will see that there are multiple shuttle buses (vans and sprinter buses in front of a food and coffee area). It is here where you should seek the shuttle bus from Westin Camino Real. Westin Camino Real is part of a corporation that owns and operates multiple hotels in Guatemala. The shuttle will have the logos of the hotels. For your reference, here are some examples of the shuttle buses:
3. What to do if you can t locate the shuttle bus? Westin Camino Real shuttle busses run every 45 minutes (4:00 AM - 10:00 PM - Daily). If you don t see the shuttle bus right away don t panic, just wait patiently in this area until the bus arrives. If your wait time has exceeded 30 minutes and your bus hasn t arrived, please call or message Diego Cerezo at +502 4052-0421 (or message Aaron). Passengers may request a phone call to any of the on-site airport personnel (just give them a tip). *Remember that after 10 pm a reservation must be made for shuttle service. Please notify your tour leader so we can reserve the shuttle service for you. Worst case scenario: You ve waited a long time and no sight of a shuttle bus from the hotel, Diego/Aaron are not responding, take a cab to the hotel and report to us so we can reimburse you.
