(Editors note - I didn't have too much this month but here is a write up from the MTFCSD as about half the people who attended are members of the HVMTC) Old Globe Back Stage Tour 22 August As many of you know, John Chapman is the President of a senior softball league. One member of the league is a Senior Docent at the Old Globe Theater complex and John arranged a backstage visit for 22 August. We met at the Histerical Auto Works in Santee and we were somewhat disappointed when only three Ts showed up. The Pepes came down from Temecula, John Chapman in his Roaster, the Bowker's in the coupe and the Risings with truck and trailer from Ramona. Only three Model Ts, what is happening. It is very discouraging, while waiting, we summarized members don't want to drive their cars. The drive to Balboa Park was uneventful, lots of waves and smiles along the route. Once there, parking was easy and walked across to the theater complex. Several members showed up by the time we entered the theater, the admission fee was picked up by the club. During the initiation, four more showed for a total of seventeen.. We were shown the White circular theater, then under the stage, the control room, the costume room, under stage of the main theater, auditorium of the main theater and finally the open air theater. Quite eye opening, who knew it took so many people and effort to put half a dozen actors on a stage? Following the tour, we drove over to Radford's for lunch and then an easy drive back to Santee. A wonderful day out, thanks to John for organizing the trip and a "boo" to the members for not supporting this easiest of tours TonyB September 2015 Hidden Valley Model T Club Commutator Page 4
