Del-Mi District 2015 Fall Camporee
Camporee Logistics Address, Traffic & Parking Camp Krietenstein 6445 E County Rd 575 N Center Point, IN 47840 Upon arrival, all units will enter Camp Krietenstein at the West entrance (closest to IN-59 on I- 70), as indicated on the Arrival and Overview Map. Units will be met by a Camporee Logistics team member. Only the trailers will be allowed to remain at the campsite. All other vehicles will go directly to the gravel parking lot and can drop off scouts and gear. Rickshaws are available for use. After stopping by the check-in table, the SPL / SM or adult leader will proceed to the Dining Hall to identify their campsite and determine their course of action to get set up. Camp Sites We will be camping on the main field along with a few of the campsites. We will provide fire rings to any troop if requested. Tent stakes may be used. Bring any necessary tables and chairs for your campsite. Please bring your Troop Flat to display proudly at your campsite. Patrol flags are encouraged as well. Bring your materials and plans to build a gateway in the spirit of the campout theme (Action Movies) Campfires Campfires are allowed only in the provided / requested fire rings except for the closing campfire which will be held Saturday night at the main Campfire Ring. First Aid / Safety A First Aid Station will be located at the Dining Hall with a Paramedic on duty. Please follow your standard in-unit protocols for first aid and general safety. The First Aid Station should be used for needs above that which your Unit can handle on their own. If your Unit is bringing an EMT, Nurse or Medical Doctor, please provide their name and contact number for inclusion in our medical team.
Severe Weather Severe weather plans will be distributed upon arrival to the adult leader in charge at the time of check-in. Restroom Facilities Port-lets are located in some of the campsites, plus the restrooms will be open in the Shower House. There are also restrooms in the Dining Hall. Water Portable Water will be available from spigots located throughout camp. As always, be prepared with your own means of transporting to your camp site. Service Project Leave it better than you found it! Scouts and leaders will be asked to collect trash, as opportunity presents itself, throughout the weekend and deposit in the appropriate receptacles. Let s help keep Camp Krietenstein s grounds beautiful and litter free. We will also be collecting non-perishable food items for local pantries. PLC Due to the movie on Friday night, having our traditional Friday evening PLC is not feasible. Rather, we will provide each SPL and SM with a PLC Document at check-in which will contain all pertinent information normally distributed at the PLC. In addition, Mr. Scott Smith will be available to answer questions on Saturday morning at 8 AM near the Dining Hall. Trading Post There will be a Trading Post open on Friday night and during the day on Saturday. The Trading Post will have Scout Strong options along with some of your traditional items.
