UCAS main scheme applications, 2011-12 Notes on the data The main scheme relates to applications before June 30 each year (so principally excludes applications through clearing). Individuals can submit up to five applications (choices). The average number of applications each person made stayed stable in 2011 and 2012 (4.26 in 2011 and 4.27 in 2012). The data was lodged in the House of Commons Library by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills in response to Parliamentary Question 123960 by Harrow West MP, Gareth Thomas. The library reference is DEP2012-1561. Parliamentary constituency has been derived from the applicant's home postcode, which is not always the same as their area of home domicile. Parliamentary constituency has been derived from the latest Statistics Postcode Directory (May 2012). 1.
